Okay, don't ask why we're reviewing Embrace the Darkness III. The studio sends
the tapes, we watch them, we tell you what we think.
There's no mystery that EtD3 (as I like to call it) is poor. I've never seen
Embrace the Darkness or Embrace the Darkness II, and I've never heard of its
star Brooke Larele before today. She's cute enough and has no trouble
stripping out of her increasingly impossible costume choices, but boy could she
use an acting lesson.
As "pure vampire" named Jennifer (truly immortal, that Jennifer), Larele stars
as a conflicted urbanite who can't control her lust for either blood or booty
calls, but an old vampire master named Victor (Ty Winston) offers to help her
out. Turns out Vic wants her blood himself so he can become a "pure vampire,"
and the press is on the case, too!
Will she shun the sex parties and take the straight and narrow or will she
descend further into debauchery? Dunno, but she'll be topless along the way.
It's unfortunate that the gore is lame in EtD3, but it's even worse that the
erotica isn't even compelling. The story is utter nonsense, the acting is
straight out of highschool theater class (the first day of class, really), and
only a few funky vampire-baking-in-the-sun effects make you give the movie any
of your attention.
So, as if there was any doubt: This movie bites.
So to speak.
