Let me tell you what annoys me: When a studio picks up an old TV miniseries,
scrubs out the commercials, puts a picture of a red-brassiered torso on the
cover, and releases it as a DVD.
Minute for minute, the three-hour Degree of Guilt is possibly the worst film
I've ever seen. It's literally endless, padded mercilessly with innumerable,
meaningless subplots, all so we can find out who killed the antagonist -- a
murder which doesn't occur until halfway through the movie! (Presumably this
was the cliffhanger to get people to watch the second night of this dog.)
Wooden blocks have better acting skills than those on display here, and the
script sounds like it was written via Mad Libs (though in reality, based on
some Richard North Patterson novels). Quite simply, it's awful. Avoid at all
costs.
