Pretty tepid adaptation of what is a pretty tepid book to begin with. This inspiration for Dead Poets Society -- and every other boarding school-set book and film -- is very poorly acted and places much of its emphasis on World War II, which (if memory serves) is less of a focus on the war and more on the interplay between its two leads, one of whom may have caused the other to fall 30 feet from a tree. Too bad in the movie it's obvious the underdog (Parker Stevenson) didn't jostle the branch in the slightest.
