Following two hugely successful sold out events, Underage returns to Victoria Park for its third year.  Founded by Sam Kilkoyne (now 17) the Underage Club and Underage Festival are the original and most revered under 18's events in the world. Critically acclaimed by the media and much loved by its enthusiastic, adolescent audience Underage has captured the imagination of a nation and tapped into a vibrant and buoyant scene set by Britain's youth.

Youth Music gives under 19s the opportunity to perform at Underage Festival in Victoria Park

Youth Music is ten this year and as part of the birthday festivities, the national charity is celebrating the power of music to improve the lives of young people with its very own 'Music Is Power' stage at the Underage Festival - the world's largest and best loved festival strictly for under 19s.

Youth Music's Underage campaign launches on 1st April 2009. Young musicians in any genre can sign up on the interactive microsite and the four best acts will be selected to play alongside established artists such as Ladyhawke, Tommy Sparks, Kissy Sellout and many more, in what is already promising to be the best ever festival exclusively for young people

To enter; musicians will upload their video or audio demos and be asked to tell us how they would use the power of music to make a difference in their area. Entrants and registered users will be able watch, comment on and rate all entries.

The deadline for submissions is 15th June 2009 after which, the demos will be judged and short-listed acts will be invited to attend one of three regional auditions (London, Bristol and Manchester). The judging panel will consist of high profile industry experts from the BBC and NME
