South West Four Cardiff
Place: Coopers Field, Cardiff, Wales
Dates: From 08/26/2007 To 08/26/2007
Country: United Kingdom
From a backyard party in the company of
200 party-crazed Aussies, local police and environmental health workers
back in London on June 2001 (!), to last year's debut sell-out summer festival
in Cardiff. the South West Four gang have certainly come a long way since
those humble, yet hedonistic early days. Having resided on the glorious
grounds of Clapham Common, London for the past 3 years, the decision to
head west to Cardiff on the same August Bank Holiday Weekend (as part of
the Metro Weekender, together with indie-dance day Cardiff Calling) was
clearly a good one as last summer's outdoor event proved an instant hit
with all 10,000 tickets selling out fast! Featuring an all-star cast of
DJs including Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed and Armin Van Buuren,
South West Four certainly caught the imagination of the Cardiff community
and this year's forthcoming festival is already being tipped to be one
of the most sought after parties on the clubbing calendar. We were also
rather pleased to have picked up 2 nominations at the UK Festival Awards
2006 for Best One Day Festival and Best New Festival!!
South West Four 2007 will offer even more value for money as we bring you
more of the biggest names on the planet, alongside the key clubs and DJs
from Cardiff, all played out on the breathtaking backdrop of Coopers Field,
Bute Park. Please note: this event will sell-out, so we urge you to snap
up your tickets now, whilst stocks last!!
The World's undisputed No.1 DJ (DJ Mag Top 100 Poll 2005/2006), Paul Van
Dyk takes over the mantle from Carl Cox as this year's exclusive South
West Four festival headliner. Nicknamed 'God' by his die-hard legion of
fans, PVD has been one of the most consistent DJ/Producers of the past
decade, scooping multiple awards and accolades en route to rocking just
about every country on the planet. He rarely plays in Wales, making his
appearance extra special, plus with a forthcoming artist album on the way
and with a brilliant back catalogue that boasts classic tracks like 'For
An Angel'. PVD really is the closest thing to God you'll see in Cardiff
all summer!!
