Witnesses do not vote to reain neutral, but it is okay for the Watchtower society to build engines for smart bombs... The Watchtower Society owns 50% stock in Rand Cam - so much for its pacifist claims and prohibitions on political involvement. Among their products is an engine used in smart bombs. “On December 6, 2001 we announced that a U.S. Navy contract (SBIR No1-144) has been awarded to Advanced Ceramics Research (prime contractor) and REGI U.S., Inc. to build and test a Naval 0.5 horsepower ceramic engine. The proposed engine is a four stroke Rand Cam engine utilizing continuous injection and combustion in a single combustion chamber. The engine will be of all ceramic construction to permit high temperature operation, without cooling, to effectively burn heavy oil. This new motor will be developed for powering the U.S. Navy’s new Smart War-fighter Array of Re-configurable Modules (SWARM) low cost unmanned aerial vehicle. On April 4, 2002 we announced that we signed an agreement to grant a license to Advanced Ceramics Research, Inc. (”ACR”) for the Rand Cam based motors for 10 H.P. or less for the SBIR No 1-144 Navy Contract for the remote piloted applications. We agreed that a 5 year contract will also be granted to ACR for the Rand Cam concept motors for the commercial and military rights for the applications developed under the Navy contract for 10 H.P or less.” Is this new? Not really. Here’s another example from the randytv.com site, a report written to illustrate that although the Watchtower Society and Jehovah’s Witnesses condemn war or any such involvement in warfare, it was indeed one of their own devout ministers who was instrumental in the production of weapons of mass destruction specifically during WW2. Clarence Gilbert Taylor (JW) was founder of the (Taylorcraft) Corporation, and set up nine different companies in the mass production of warfare technology. In addition to the famous Taylorcrift Airplanes, just one of these companies - strangely called Gibson Refrigerator Company - contracted and manufactured the following: 1. Incendiary Bombs 2. Chemical Bombs 3. Chemical Bomb Clusters 4. Anti-Aircraft Guns 5. Navy Practice Bombs 6. Aircraft Parachute Flare Bombs 7. Bomb Shackles 8. Jettison Aircraft Fuel Tanks 9. Liberator Bomber Wing Flaps 10. Computer Parts for Large Caliber Anti-Aircraft Guns and Shipboard Guns 11. Engine Parts for Aircraft and Tanks 12. Bomb Housing Band Sets 13. Bomb Sight Lens Polishers 14. CG4A Bomber Gliders 15. Mustard Gas There is extensive documentation at the site - and a claim (which I need to research for validity) that Dwight Eisenhower was brought up in the “Bible Students” - an early version of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Neutral in world affairs? Here’s just one more way they are not.

The Watchtower leadership promotes this 'Christian neutrality' pretense, but in many countries Jehovah's Witnesses DO vote in political elections to win favor with political systems abroad. Many JW's here in the USA voted in this last election too.Interestingly, the Watchtower Society was a United Nations member for ten years to further it's expanding interest. --Danny Haszard www.dannyhaszard.com

Being a Jehovah's Witnesses for over 40 years, and served as an elder in my congregation, I can tell you that neither of the Williams sisters are Jehovah's Witnesses. They may make the claim, but their actions show that they are not. In fact thier actions bring reproach on our organization and the the work we are engaged in.

I could claim to be of the Bahai'i faith but that doesnt' make it so. Serena mistakenly claims to one of Jehovah's Witnesses but her conduct clearly confirms she is not. Would you want someone to testify in court for you who belies your beliefs? So it follows....

If you have indeed voted for a man and belied your one true vote for the only one individual that can and will fix all the problems in this old world, it speaks poorlly of your faith sir. When (and if) you dedicated your life to Jehovah God you knowingly disowned yourself and placed his interest first in your life. That would also include maintaining nuetrality in this old worlds affairs. It goes the same with these girls that the press claims are Jehovah's Witnesses. Being raised in a home of Witnesses is a far cry from making a personal dedication based on personal Bible study. If, for some reason, you have truly swung your loyalty to this worlds political arena, my prayers are with you as you have lost sight of your dedication.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Bible is the source of Truth. So for whom would Jesus vote? They came to make him a king, but he went away. John 6:15. He prayed to Jehovah at the Last Supper to watch over his disciples as they were in the world but not part of it. Early Christians had no part in the the affairs of the Roman Government, even dying for their neutral stand. How else could the Witnesses be except neutral in all political affairs in all countries? One African politician told the Witnesses that they would not be helping put him into office, but when he got in, they would not be trying to get him out. He was satisfied with that. We are neutral worldwide sharing the hope of the Kingdom with all. Matthew 24:14. Come work with us to represent Jehovah to the exclusion of all other rulers.

Bah. JWs do not force anyone to do anything. Anyone who is baptized as one of JWs is clearly taught what the Bible requires of Christians and how the congregation disciplines those who unrepentantly violate God's standards. What Mister Lorenzo -- and other JW critics -- will not mention is that disfellowshipping (they prefer the more sensational "shunning" but call it what you like) for abandoning Bible principles is SCRIPTURAL and was established by Jesus' apostles. Such whiners are like rebellious children who get their hand slapped and then curse the parent and their "unfair" rules. They WANT to ignore the Bible and hate those who don't share their view. Those who truly love their Creator find joy in obedience--just as Jesus did.

Having been involved with the Watchtower (WT)Corporation I have to agree with this story and disagree with the above posters who claim no one is forced to do anything by the WT. If Serena or Venus were seen going into the polls and it was made known that they voted for Mr. Obama, they would be dragged before a judicial committee, possibly disfellowshipped, and shunned by all Jehovah's Witnesses as apostates. The same goes for me too. See I voted this year and am worried that if anyone finds out at the kingdom hall, I may face an ugly situation where my own children would be forced to shun me. Don't be fooled by apologetics, the Watchtower is indeed forcing millions to not vote, to decline medical attention such as life saving blood transfusions, among many other no no's.

Been a Jehovah's Witness for over 25 years. we are not forced to do anything, and we don't just off a whim become JWs, we study the bible and answer some 12o questions based entirely on the bible. Same questions for the 10 year old as for the 100 yr.old person. We don't vote for any other gov.just as people who vote, only vote in one country, the one they support in ideas and principle etc. We support Jehovah's kingdom (government) in the hands of his some Jesus Christ. And we try to be good citizens, so to speak in our treatment of others, but there are priciples we keep. Some are more grander than we are. thanx

As someone who has been a Witness for 29 years, I can tell you with certainty that not a one of us is forced to be politicallly neutral. I care very much about the issues facing all of us, not just in this country but earthwide. But in line with Jesus Kingdom not being any part of this world, (John 18:36) and his statement that his followers are no part of this world, I choose not to participate in the politics in any country, while at the same time, remaining a respectful citizen and obeying the laws of the land. Your article mispresents our beliefs. Not everyone who has ever had associations with Jehovah's Witnesses are actually practicing Witnesses. They may have had some affiliation with JW's at some point in their lives. But for Jehovah's Witnesses, putting neighbor before oneself and teaching others about God's Kingdom, not the fruitless, though perhaps sincere, endeavors of human governments, is the focal point of our lives. If a person claims to prefer one candidate over another then clearly they are not neutral in thier mind and heart. So can they really call themselves a Witness for Jehovah? Not as I understand it. I really wish they would quit saying they are Witnesses until they are practicing Witnesses.
