Way to use tired cliches, there, capital-letter-dawg. I don't "hate", I just feel sorry for the kids of America that they can be tricked by tv into buying cds made by someone who's technically not even a musician. It's your money, so go ahead and give it to Kanye, even though anyone could do what he does. What "rhythm" does he have? The ones that come out of the electronic beat machine he uses? You can have the exact same rhythm for a couple of hundred dollars. "Style"? If you were old enough to remember the 80's, or even the 70's for that matter, you would realize that there hasn't been any new style introduced into rap music since it was invented. It was a silly gimmick, meant to sell some records for a few years. The record companies realized how simple and easy it was to produce these albums, and soon, MTV got on board (Yo! MTV Raps). I'd wager that 95% of Kanye's fans weren't even born in the 80's, so there's no way they could understand how completely boring, cliche, and irrelevant the entire genre is. If you want to hear "style" and "rhythm", get yourself some Grandmaster Flash or Sugarhill Gang, some of the originals. That was about as musical as rap ever was, and it was all downhill from there.

He has issues. He does not know what to do anymore. He thinks he is all that and a bag of chip. He is not even a bag of chips. He needs to cut it out.

Kanye is full of himself, but worse, just full of s**t. I loved his comment last week on the AMAs that he wanted to be the next Elvis Presley, which was announced in the shadows of his latest, under-performing CD. He takes himself too seriously, runs around throwing tantrums backstage at award shows when he doesn't win, treats people poorly and is demoralizing to anyone in his midst, and blames every White person for every one of his failures. The fact of the matter is, he wasn't raised very well. And I've never heard anyone talk to his mother like Kanye did. Just nasty stuff. I've witnessed all of these behaviors. Kanye is delusional and will one day commit career suicide. It's already happening. Unlike Elvis though, nobody will care when it happens. Can you say delusional? I can.

Is this a joke? If I had a nickel for every talentless man in America who thought he was a "musician" because he bought a sampler and talked over it...there must be 10 million people doing EXACTLY the same thing, making EXACTLY the same turgid noise. The fact that he's just now realizing it's a cliche puts him about 20-25 YEARS behind schedule. His kind of "music" appeals to two kinds of people: those who understand ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about music, and kids. Either little kids, or very stupid older kids. A musician not only writes "rhymes", they SING them and play INSTRUMENTS to make their OWN music. The artists he wants to be compared to are some of the finest the world has ever produced. You can't just decide one day to have legendary, revolutionary talent. Sorry, kiddo. Only in America can someone make millions of dollars in the music industry without being able to sing or play an instrument to save their life. Most of his "singing" is electronically pitch-corrected with software anyway- it's not even real singing. Does he honestly think the public is: (A) not as smart as he is and (B) less knowledgible about musicianship and the recording arts? These statements will only fool his already-won audience: the ignorant and the young.

I was born a musician and I think Kanye does not represent himself that well. He is not special. In this article Kanye is trying to say that he wants to be placed in history like Jimi Hendrix... first of call KANYE jimi did not synth his voice nor did he use a pitch adjusters. These past artist where real singers and musicians who write music the proper way not no repatitive 4 bars with your lame hooks..Kanye back in the day I gave you your props but now you lost it...your head got to big for this industry..you need to kick back and think into the music and find yourself again..... PEACE VREJ

I commend Kanye, a lot of people like to knock him for being full of himself...arrogant...etc, but perhaps the question isn't why does he think so much of himself, but rather how come WE dont think so much of OURSELVES. Honestly, who does it hurt to actually think you are all that. Kayne thinks he's all that the product...a revolutionary that thinks his own thoughts, musically innovative, and truly inspiring. Vive la revolution!!!
