punk was all about rough
edged kids from (usually) impoverished backgrounds playing the heck out of their
music until someone 'discovered' their raw talent. Sound like anyone we know? The
Beatles payed their dues playing Motown music night after night wearing leather jackets
for years before Brian Epstein and George Martin helped them to reach a wider audience.
As for the Motown and the music business, Motown has NEVER been dead, people still lov
e it as much as the Beatles did!

I now throw John Waters in with Roger Daltry as people I no longer respect because
they don't get the Beatles. Where the F would The Who be had the Beatles not broken
the American market wide open?
NONE of the other British muscicians could open that door by them selfs or as a group.
They should kneel down and praise the Beatles.
