Swayze Hid Cancer Pain Message Board and Comments

Patrick, I know what your wife and family are going through, and probably you
as well. My husband died of unresectable pancreatic cancer Feb. 2007. He
lasted two years after his diognosis. He smoked and didn't change any thing
about his life style either. I agree with that 100 % He went to M D Anderson
in Houston and got to be in some clinical trials which I think helped. Good
Luck to you and my heart goes out to your wife and family. By the way it's
interesting that my husband was born June 13, 1952 I guess about two months
before you.
I admire your bravery and common sense and truth about your illness.
I have to say from experience in my own father's death from cancer (stomache)
that for your family every second left will be a precious memory as they spend
the rest of their lives, "getting on with their lives". The ache they will
ALWAYS feel for you will drive how they operate in other relationships and
decisions, and will forever change and affect the way they'll look at life and
the world. The great hope of the truth in that line -- "you take the love with
you" is important to those who have decades left in life before the hope of
reuniting... as they will likely appreciate and exude it...perhaps more in
remembrance than when the loved one was alive.
Prayers with you and yours...
I wish a cure was available. My wife is a massage therapist and believes she
has used healing touch to "encapsulate and shrink" tumors. She has had several
breast, lung and colon cancer patients and has shown unexplainable positive
effects (only one has died, despite poor prognoses for some). She even worked
with a pancreatic cancer patient, who was at the same time getting experimental
care at Johns-Hopkins. Whether she had an effect is unknown, but he went from
a 6 week to 6 months prognosis to 18 months...from when she started working
with him, before he succumbed. She was massaging him, around his chemo and
medical treatment schedule, twice a week. He didn't believe in the "energy
work" but appreciated the massage, as a comfort allowing sleep after the chemo.
When he realized his life was extending, he gradually went back to a grueling
work schedule and stopped the massage. After a couple of months off the
treatment, though he was continuing medical treatments, the cancer returned. My
wife was frustrated that he didn't believe in the massage "energy work" and
possibly lost a chance for recovery. Anyway, Patrick, you might consider
finding a massage therapist that does healing energy work. There's a lot that
medicine doesn't accept about the harmonic effects on cells, involved in
"energy work". Something to consider, respectfully.
Lastly, I liked your work as an actor. But in your final communications to
the public, you present a fine honest convicting soul and example. Thanks for
reaching out to a world of souls in need of such an example.
Patrick,
I have been a fan of your's for many years. I'm sorry to hear of your

By the way your story of what you've gone through brought tears to my eyes.
Be blessed, and love to you both,
