cdawg, Wake up and read the newspaper, clean the wax out your ears and listen to the news: suicides breed suicides. When this hits US theaters adolescent boys, who just got stood up by a girl, across the country will solve their problem the cowards way. NOTE TO DOPES: we are not 'afraid' of the movie, we see it for what it is: the next step in the decline of Western ideals and morality.

a great idea, for Alec Baldwin, Tim Robbins, Sean Penn, Ben Afflict, Ed Asner, Martin (and now Charlie) Sheen, Susan Sarandon, Michael Moore, Cindy Sheehan, George Soros, and the ditzy chicks, in a remake with REAL actors... and no stuntmen!!

What they don't say is that these guys saved the lives of 6 people by calling the bridge patroll each and every time someone went over the side. This is just another film that people are afraid of and do not understand so they blast it for what it is not. A gratifying look at people dying... Not this movie. Not from what I understand the motives behind making it are.... Watch the film before you blast it.

There is another movie called "The Bridge," which offers a great message. It is a Czech film called "MOST." (Most means "The Bridge" in Czech). You can learn more of this excellent film by going to http://www.mostthemovie.com/. The suicide movie is nihilistic and of no value. MOST will change your life for the better!

"suicide. assassination. abortion. all VERY different things. IDIOTS." Why resort to name calling? Because maybe it made a good point? Anyway, I said that these same festivals which embraced the assassination of an active US President would shun a suicide movie because they are worried it would encourage such behavior. Yes they are different things but wouldn't the rationale to not show them be the same? I wonder if a movie about suicide's in the mid west with handguns instead of jumpers in San Francisco would recieve the same treatment, something tells me that would have won a bunch of awards. Everything is looked at in a biased template with the left, thats why they lose so much respect. The movement has weeded out the reasonable (like me) from it's ranks. By the way, I had the same thought about showing abortions on TV after CNN showed US troops getting killed by snipers for it's "news value". I've never seen an abortion and I bet 99.7+% of the people who never had one havn't either, considering that there are millions done every year why isn't there more interest in educating people about that? Well, we know the reason to that don't we?

Yes, it is true. Money is their god in Hollywood. Too bad he can't save them. No talent and no soul. Judgement is on them. God help us that are caught in the middle.

At least after the Muslims take over you idiot film-makers will be under lock and control. The terrorists are right. The west is corrupt. You're telling me you can't find any better subject for a film than people that commit suicide. It is so sad.

Dear Reader11722, The poetic, deep-thinking, yet disturbed and, can I say it, money grubbing vermin who inhabit Hollywood will do anything to weaken the fabric of our nation through their 'art'. Compare the number of movies about good government vs. bad, honest cops vs. bad, uplifting movies vs. those with gratuitous obscenities, sex, violence and death. Hollywood is doing its best to diminish the level of civility in the USA, and from what I see; they are doing a damn good job of it. No, you idiot! We are not prudes, but we do understand the concept: Garbage in - garbage out. postmodernman

We must make sure that this film (while repulsive) is not censored. Already the US gov't detains protestors, bans books like "America Deceived" from Amazon and fires 21-year BYU physics professor Steven Jones because he proved explosives, thermite in particular, took down the WTC buildings. Final link (before Google Books caves to pressure and drops the title): http://www.iuniverse.com/bookstore/book_detail.asp?&isbn=0-595-38523-0

If there is a such a concern for death and such a deep need for clarity and a curiosity about it, why not make a movie about abortion? Let's graphically take a look at that part of our society and culture. Show abortions being administered and let the filmmakers discuss openly and with much concern about how it makes the patients feel? Maybe how it makes the rest of the family feel. Maybe they could interview the woman's grandparents in each case and really just learn how they feel about their great-grandchild being aborted. Let's focus on feelings here, okay? Show third term abortions and what is done with the body parts afterward. Show the tiny legs and arms of the unborn kids and really ponder why it was done. Explore that idea and see if that movie is played in theaters to people who are just "curious" and "thoughtful" about why things happen in this world.

I had read about this movie a while ago on IMdb.com, but had not heard about it since. One of the jumpers lives and is in the film so I can see some merit in it for his thoughts on why he did it. What makes me laugh (in disgust) is that the same festivals that would ban a suicide movie because it may influence people to do that act would embrace an assassination movie on a living (not to mention, in office!) U.S. President. The left's hypocrisy will never end.

Why is this even controversial. People love rubber-necking from their living room, or in a theater. This kind of gore always fascinates. Which is why websites like http://www.ogrish.com/ are so popular and which is why this movie will sell.

These comments are from people who have not seen the film nor understand how the filming of the suicides came about. It is a powerful beautiful and moving film, that in no way encourages or advocates suicide. Acting like it does not happen in the real world does not make it so. The families of the people who died have all particiated in the film and were glad that they did. Do not judge what you have not seen.

I guess Oliver Stone is a typical Hollywood bonehead with a bit of talent and too much money. His recent inane babbling is part advertising and part stupidity. September 11, 2001, it's morning and 3000 sleepyheads of mixed nationalities are beginning the last day of their lives. Some are old, some are young, some very young, some are in the exciting fast time of their lives, but all will be dead by the end of this bright sunny blue sky day. People will kill them with fire, falling airplanes, and crushing concrete. All they did was begin their day...that's all. I get the feeling that Stone, and others that you would not want protecting your family, would try to 'talk' and 'reason' with barbarians that have only one goal in life...to kill you and your children for not believing as they believe. They dont want to talk, they want you dead Oliver...dead...and they consider it an honor to die in the process of killing you and your loved ones. Fool.

Having been "on the bridge" a few times myself in my life long battle with clinical depression, I can assure you that my reasons for being there at that place had nothing to do with what others were doing.

You can't tell me you haven't driven across a large bridge in a Metropolitan area and wondered how many people have jumped to their doom. You find yourself wondering why and how and if they suffered. I'm looking forward to this movied because I've read about it and know that it is not a snuff film but an exploratory into the phenomenon (centuries old) of bridge suicide.

These artists are supposed to be the smartest people in the room and this is all they can produce....What would have been a great film is if producers of this type of art would all get together and do a mass suicide movie in which they were all using various methods of suicide on themselves. They would rid the world of their stupidity and accomplish real thought provoking discussion on how a human beings can become such fools. I'd pay 10 bucks to see that.
