The Levert family has given the world some of the most beautiful music ever recorded . Our heartfelt condolences go out to them and may God comfort them as they mourn the passing of one of their beloved sons.

As a nurse practitioner in the State of Michigan, I am confident in saying that Sean's death was caused by gross negligence on behalf of the officials at the County Jail where he was being held. The Warden admitted that Sean was acting strangely. This is called an "acute mental status change", which warrants an immediate emergency medical evaluation by a certified physican. They restrained him instead of calling 911. This is a lawsuit all over the world. The Department of Justice in Michigan warrants a physical exam for any prisioner who has any medical condition. Any health care professional knows that a individual who has a change in cognition is in trouble physically. Bizarre behavior, mental status changes, and anxiety are all warning signs of an individual being in trouble. He should have been sent to the in house nurse, who then should/would have sent him to the ER immediately, as opposed to restraining him. His acting out was caused by anxiety because he knew something was wrong. In addition, if it was known that he had a drug addiction and hypertension (high blood pressure), this is even more of a reason to seek medical treatment. Lastly, if he was being watched, it should have been by an individual with a healthcare license, not a prison guard with no healthcare knowledge or experience. My heart goes out to the whole entire Levert family as well as those who love the Levert family as well as I do. Martha and Eddie are deeply in my thoughts and prayers. After the burial and healing time, hope they obtain a malpractice lawyer. SEAN'S DEATH COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED IF HE WAS SENT FOR A PROPER MEDICAL EVALUATION. THE COUNTY IN OHIO THAT HE WAS BEING HELD IN IS LIABLE DUE TO GROSS NEGLIGENCE.

Judge not, and you shall not be judged; Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Luke 6:37. Let those of us without sin, cast the first stone. What is the matter with people when someone dies and instead of showing sympathy and compassion, they make rude and heartless comments??? That's what's wrong with our world, no one cares unless it affects them. My prayers and love go out to the Levert family. Breaks my heart, both Gerald and Sean, gone too soon. Also, I'd like to correct/clarify something written in the article -- Gerald Levert died of an accidental overdose of "prescription and over the counter medication", not any illicit drugs. The article said drug overdose, and that can be taken the wrong way, so I wanted to make that very clear. My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Levert family.

It may have been well known thanks to the media about Sean Levert's personal life, or whatever; what's matter is that people should respect the Levert family's wishes to give them privacy while they mourn their loss. This is not a easy process right nowconsidering the fact that they are still coping with the loss of Gerald. Only God can judge. My continued love, thoughts, and prayers are with the Levert family each and every day. With much luv...
