In that time, not only has the British public accepted Jerry Lee Lewis as the legend, rock icon, supreme talent that he is, but he has been awarded almost every meritous achievement available in the United States. And yet, it seems that the British press which hounded him 50 years ago continues to do so. Myra is long past the teenage years today, their son Steve passed away just before Jerry's triumphant return to your shores in the 60s, and their daughter Phoebe is now past 40 and manages her dad's career. Isn't it about time that the British press grew up and quit airing dirty laundry that's so old it's rotten away? Since then Jerry has had a string of hits in the 1960s, 70s, 80s right up to his latest CD 'Last Man Standing' which hit the top of 4 Billboard charts in 2006, selling over half a million copies, his biggest-selling album to date. And Jerry has toured UK and the world constantly thruout the 5 decades since 1958, playing to enthusiastic audiences. He has recorded a phenomenal amount of material in various styles. Jerry Lee is a living legend, and after his European tour this year, he is booked to return here yet again in March 2009.

I feel sorry to say, but is this all you can write when a legend like Jerry lee Lewis is gonna tour the UK? This marriage and cancelled tour you talk about, is 50 years ago. Fifty years, that is half a century, and there happened many many more interesting things in the life of the legendary Lewis. For example, his come back in the sixties with a long row of country hits, his recent come back with the album Last Man Standing on which he plays with Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, Neil Young and many others. Or him being the first one inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall Of Fame in 1986. Or his Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award a few years ago. The tour you refer to is 50 years ago, and mr. Lewis has toured the UK many many times since than. He toured the UK in the sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties and after 2000 quite often as well, so there is nothing new or interesting about that Hopefully you soon come with a more interesting and more respectfull article for a legend who is still touring all over the world after more than 50 years of music.
