I think that Faith Hill acted like a spoiled child and I don't think that rimes statement is true about paying dues. No one should have to pay dues, if you are picked by the people that makes a statement. Faith hill has had her day in the spot light and it's terrible for her to act that way. I always thought so was so down to earth , but she showed her true colors. That was not a joke to her, by her eyes and action she meant it. Good luck Faith

Things that make you go hmmmmm... FLASHBACK: LeAnn Rimes makes it big in 1996 with "Blue" at the age of 13. In 1997 she wins a Grammy at the age of 14. Some might say LeAnn didn't pay her dues either...

I think Faith and LeAnn need to get over themselves. Just because you have been doing something longer does not mean you are more deserving. As the title "Female Vocalist of the YEAR" implies, the award is for this year. Carrie's accomplishments this year have been amazing. Jealousy is a very ugly thing and it appears it has reared it's head in this instance. Do not forget that it is the CMA members that voted not the public. If they felt she did not deserve it they would not have voted for her. Four million copies sold in less than a year is nothing but deserving.

Thank You to everyone who understands the meaning behind Female Vocalist of the "YEAR". All the singers have shown us great talent, but not everyone can win. Carrie has put her heart and soul into her career just like the others, she deserved to win and all the other Female Vocalist just needs to be happy for her and do their best to try to win next time. Leann seriously needs to apologize face to face to Carrie for the uncalled comment. Keep up the great work Carrie.

I have to say I agree with deep on this one. It is for Female Vocalist of the Year not years. Carrie is a Great talent and to me she proved it by selling 4 million CD's of "Some Hearts". I like Faith and Leann but have they sold over 4 Million CD's of their first album.

Why does everyone think she has to pay her "dues" in order to win. The title is "Female Vocalist of the Year" - not years. They give lifetime achievment awards for people who have paid their dues. Obviously, the CMA found her to be the top female vocalist of the past year (2005-2006). All other years are nell and void. Paying dues has nothing to do with the award.

Leave Carrie alone. LeaAnn needs to remember when she started in country music she made it big and won awards in her first year and she was only what around 15. Carrie deserves what shes worked for. Get over it Faith and LeaAnn

I agree with Faith Hill and Leann Rimes. . . Carrie Underwood does need to pay her dues. No one is saying she's not a wonderful artists, but give me a break!!! There are artists that have worked long, hard YEARS to obtain the top honor in their respective category. I'm sure Carrie has worked hard to launch her career, but it's only been 2 years since the American Idol victory.
