Just to clarify, the reference made to 16/106 was not for total CO2, but rather the parts per million contributed by humans as part of the total amount of CO2, I believe. Yes, it hasn't snowed in 25 years; then maybe 25 years before. I wonder why no one in the so-called Main Stream Media had the intelligence to inquire about what may have caused the snow in those earlier years? Since Global Warming is only the latest phenomenon following our 1.3 year period of Global Cooling in the 70's, it certainly couldn't be attributed to Global Warming way back then, could it? All of you are quite right not to believe the high priest of global warming, algore. As always, follow the money if you want to know what is behind something. The only point I'd like to add, is about the 16/106 comment. The actual level of Co2 in the atmosphere is not 16 ppm, but 380. If it where actaully as low as 16, we'd all be long dead. Plants begin to suffer at 200 ppm, and die at 120, so it couldn't possibly be as low as reported by the previous poster. I don't mean to be argumentative here, but if we are going to pillory people for getting their facts wrong, lets make sure we are not guilty of the same thing.

What does the equation 16/106 have to do with global warming? With all due respect, if you don’t know the answer to that question, you don’t know the first thing (literally) about the man-made CO2 emissions theory of global warming and, accordingly, you couldn’t possibly have an informed opinion on the subject. If you do know the answer, then you also know that it’s the only thing you really need to know about the great global warming scam. Someone should print up a T-shirt with 16/106 on the front and back and pass them out at eco-sheep rallies. Why? Once people know that number, they may continue to parrot from the Al Gore script but their hearts are no longer in it. Why? Because 16 parts per million is the total amount of man-made CO2 in the atmosphere. What?!?!? That’s all?!?!? Sixteen parts per million?!?!? Once you get that number into the discussion, the “consensus of leading scientist say” argument is pretty much done, as well the credibility of the so-called academic community. Now we could point out that the total amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is only 0.054 percent (540 parts per million) of which over 97 percent is attributable to natural sources. We could comment on the fact that the ice core sample data presented by Al Gore in his propaganda piece actually show that CO2 content increased subsequent to (and not as a precursor of) the noted increases in temperature. Post hoc ergo propter hoc issues notwithstanding, you could correctly observe that Dr. Gore has his theoretical cause confused with his hypothetical effect. We could bring up the fact that, in direct contraction of Dr. Gore’s claim that global warming is causing an expansion of Africa’s deserts, New Scientist is reporting that “Africa’s deserts are in spectacular retreat… making farming viable in what were some of the most arid parts of Africa”. We could cite the fact that, again, in direct contradiction of Dr. Gore’s claim that Greenland is in rapid meltdown, the Journal of Glaciology reports that “ the Greenland ice sheet is thinning at the margins and growing inland with a small overall mass gain” and that the Danish Meteorological Institute now reports that the past two decades were the coldest for Greenland since the 1910s. We could assert that, again, in direct contradiction of Dr. Gore’s claim that the Antarctic ice sheet is melting because of global warming, satellite measurements of the Antarctic ice sheet actually show significant growth between 1992 and 2003. We could observe that, again, in direct contradiction to Dr. Gore’s claim that Himalayan glaciers are shrinking due to global warming, the American Meteorological Society’s Journal of Climate is now reporting that, “Glaciers are growing in the Himalayan Mountains, confounding global warming alarmists who recently claimed the glaciers were shrinking and that global warming was to blame.” We could mention the fact that changes in solar activity not only correlate perfectly with observed climate changes on Earth but on the other planets of our solar system as well. Yes, Mars is showing signs of warming and neither John Travolta nor Virgin Atlantic has yet to land a single jet there. We could reference the fact that global temperatures actually declined during the first four decades of the post-World War II industrial expansion and that three-fourths of the global warming measured in this century occurred during the relatively low carbon emissions era of 1900 to 1940. We could get into the most salient fact that surface temperature readings have increased faster than their correspondent tropospheric readings which is in direct contradiction to the man-made carbon emissions theory of global warming. For any other theory of the physical universe, this alone would be enough for a consensus of scientists to say, “Hey, wait a minute. This hypothesis does not fit the observable facts. We need a new theory.” But with global warming, the sad fact is that there are just too many grant dollars at stake for the consensus to rediscover their integrity… and so the charade continues. But dig this. We could even note that the accepted global average temperature statistics used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change show no increase in surface temperatures since 1998. What!? By the IPCC’s own definition global warming stopped in 1998?! Yes, we could confront the global warming scammers with all of these facts and more but most (if not all) of these arguments are simply too complex for the average government school indoctrinated eco-zealot to grasp. So just lay up that 16 parts per million number and let it sink in. Need something to help you put 16 parts per million into some sort of context? The average chicken dinner contains between 33 and 43 parts per million of arsenic. That’s more than twice as much poison in your KFC as man-made CO2 in the atmosphere. The Al Gore theory of global warming is a scam to promote nuclear power, expand the scope of government, increase academic welfare, tax every bit of energy productive people use, derail third world development and create unearned fortunes via a government-mandated carbon credits market… all based on the bizarre notion that reducing man-made CO2 content from 16 parts per million down to say 12 parts per million is going to counteract the power of the sun. Yes,P.T. there really is a sucker born every minute.
