Better not to sound so 'matter of fact' about homelessness, Mr. Franco. As much as your fans love the stuffin'' out of you, this bit of info about your weekend panhandling doesn't do anything for your image. The topic is a sensitive and serious one. It'd be good if you stated a public apology to all those who are homeless FOR REAL. Think about it, will ya?!

Puleeeeeeeeeeeez, in a weekend? That isn't even the tip of the iceberg, Homeless happens for many reasons, but to say you learned it all in a weekend? Perhaps a decade? Try sleeping outside regardless of the season, sometimes in the dead of winter, or in the scalding heat? Try having to rely on soup kitchens, food pantrys, handouts for a least a year, more likely 2 then maybe you've got a feel. Don't even begin to presume you know squat after a weekend, what kind of research is that? a joke that's what

On the one hand, we all just have to assume a crappy article was made out of one useless quote. On the other hand, said "article" may inform and influence people's opinions on homelessness. Dumb? Yes. The idea that cold, hard cash is the solution to any and all problems is dead wrong. Ooohh, $30 a day, for free!!! OMG, windfall??!! The causes for homelessness in the U.S. are not always explained away by cash-flow problems, (although it is usually a significant factor), and blurbs such as this one contribute to the depersonalization and misunderstanding of such conditions that many people, often unexpectedly, will face in their lifetimes. Here's to a more comprehensive understanding of the issues that face many of our fellow human beings, whether or not we do or ever are able to understand the predicament!

HEY, also... try washing up in public restrooms etc for a YEAR and not have a decent shower for longer or being unable sleep in a comfortable bed! Try the cement ground or mock bed made out of blankets in your car! Try dingy clothes for a few years and get back to me! But hey, if you learned all you had to in two days and you are sure of this, you are one hell of an ignorant fool! I really feel sorry for you if you call this "research". I hope you are a good actor to portray a role you know little about since you relied on handouts.. the majority of homeless people don't. Try eating in a homeless shelter with the rest of the kind but a pretty boy like you probably is too afraid to.

Well, this is ridiculous!!! Did he actually sleep on the streets or just stay up the whole weekend or stay in fancy hotels by night??? ONE WEEKEND AND HE's the expert on homelessness and has the audacity to say it's "EASY"??? Um, try the midwest or east coast during WINTER TIME OR the desert areas in the summer sleeping in your van or on the sidwalk and tell me it's "easy" aWIPE!. But hey, with his good looks of course he could get 30 bucks... ! Amazing that with all of his education, he could be THIS ignorant and immature in his assumptions.

He was homeless for a WEEKEND?? OH PLEASE, why don't you try REALLY being homeless and try a week or two living on the street? How about a month or six and see how far you will get with your little cardboard sign. I work with homeless kids EVERYDAY (ages 22 and under). These kids are FORCED to leave their homes because of abuse and neglect. They have no money, no car and no home to go to after a little "Weekend homeless experience" like this guy. If homelessness was really that easy, everyone would be homeless. His whole comment was just ridiculous and unrealistic. He obviously needs more education on homelessness and I personally invite him to visit our agency in Phoenix and see REALLY FIRST HAND what homelessness is all about and see if his perspectiv e changes. I can tell you first hand that a cardboard sign is not the answer to homelessness!
