Fern Britton Admits Weight Loss Surgery Message Board and Comments

Having had a lapband fitted myself, I can assure anyone that a healthy eating plan and excercise are crucial to weight loss. It is quite possible to gain weight with a lapband. It is a tool to help not an end in its self. It is also an extremely personal decision. When you tell folks that you have this done you feel that the expectation from them is huge and you yourself are trying to adjust to the massive change. To suggest that Fern has "cheated" is harsh. People take this step after a life time of diets,often faddy and harmful. The lapbanmd focuses you on maximising ones food intake to be the healthiest it can.

i do not believe,think,or care whether the tabloids are saying that Fern has mislead the "public". Since when did Fern become accountable to the rest of the country for her actions?? I thought that she was a t.v presenter?Have i got it wrong?Did she suddenly become the Queen or The head of state to set an example to people?For gods sake,she is a normal person bringing hours of joy in the job she was assigned for and that is entertaini ng the public,being a presenter and a person who understands people.She is an absolute joy to watch with Phil and what does it matter what she does in her private life?if the tabloids and media had left her alone in the first place this would never have happened.But now yhe media have forced her to change her life they are unhappy again.What does it need for you all to be happy?i think Fern is fabulous ,i love her to bits and i will never buy "The Woman" magazine again or the "Now magazine ",you are using g ood honest people to sell your products and i am horrified.What you did to Allison Hammond was shamefull and degrading.These are innocent adult women with feelings ,encountering normal problems in a normal life and you are using their times of despair to make money.It is exploitation and downright unforgiveable in this supposedly "modern day" that we live in.Leave the girls alone and instead of dragging them down for what they have done ,why not praise them for the job they are doing so well. I just dont understand why ,when someone does such a fantastic job the media is set on destroying them. But some might say thats mankind isnt it. Destroy each other in war. This whole thing is ridiculous.I love fern and i love Alison.Leave the girls alone and love each other instead of forever looking for battle i have bought woman for 22 years and will never ever buy again until they apologise to Alison.And i wont watch gmtv again if fern goes. GO GIRLS!!!!!XXX

When you have the Gastric Band fitted you still have to DIET....and EXERCISE....The operation is not a quick fix....You have to watch what you eat....Drink....Fern is to commended not treated badly and bullied by the public.....My partner had the operatio n 3 years ago and is still struggling to lose weight....The weight goes on and the weight comes off....She has suffered with the band and sometimes terribly ill....So to say she cheated the public by doing the adverts is wrong because you still have to DIET....I cannot express this enough....So if she ate the brands that she was advertising on a controlled diet she would have lost weight with or without the Gastric Band....She has done very very well.....I wish her all the luck in the world. Why do people have to be so cruel. Fern you go girl, be proud of what you have done. Does it matter how you got there, to many small minded, bored housewifes that have nothing better to do than pick on others .. they should get a life. Wish I had the guts to have an operation to get rid of my weight. Good luck
