Cruise Planning New Year In The Middle East Message Board and Comments

Why on earth would they want to spend New Year here in Dubai?? I live here and cannot understand why people like these would actually WANT to vacation in a building site?? I've been to Atlantis and, in addition to the hotel being under protest for capturing and housing a whale shark in the equivalent of a bathtub, (and also all the other problems they had on opening) I can't understand why anybody with such choice would actually spend money to stay there. They must be receiving money to spend time there - otherwise why would you transport your family to such a place when you can spend a special time like New Year anywhere on this beautiful planet???
