I truly feel for Mr. Irwin's family and friends, especially his wife and children. However, I think that he led a life or danger and his career was one of extreme risk. Having watched many of his documentaries, I believe that he always handled the animals in an irresponsible manner, as well as disrespectful to the animals' sense of safety and personal space; they are animals after all, with instincts and lack of understanding...being humans we have to understand that by pushing those boundaries, the animals may not be sympathetic. It is truly tragic that he passed in such a terrible way, but what is more tragic is that Mr. Irwin, being an adult with a family to care for, was not more careful when dealing with dangerous and deadly animals; couldn't everyone see this type of tragedy coming? Rest in peace Steve Irwin.

According to a news story just in, Terri Irwin has reported the death video has been detroye. No doubt Steve's last adventure will be aired on TV, but probably up to that dreadful moment, and then stops. Whatever Terri's decision is, I am behind her all the way.

It has been a few months since Mr Erwins death and the world still has not gotten pass the shock. I can't imagine what his friends and family must be going through. The holidays I am sure were extremely difficult for all of you and my heart goes out to you in your pain. I don't know if Mr Erwin would still feel the same way about letting the world see his death. I would say that I feel that at the expense of his families unending grief that video should never be shown to anyone. People can be so uncaring and morbid to satisfy their own curiosity. Watching someone die, and I am a paramedic, is very heartwrenching and not a movie to be shared with the whole world. It is unbelievably sad for the family and friends whose desires are to have their loved one be here to hold and love as always. Their only wish would be to take back that last moment when death took their loved one away and be happy to grow old together and live a long happy life. His children should not be exposed to it. His wonderful wife should not be exposed to it and the world should Kiss off and leave them to grieve in peace. It amazes me that people are so drawn to watch the painful death of someone else. To Steve's family and friends I wish I could take back that moment for you and I truely wish you peace in your grief. May God give you the solace you need to get through the days, months, and years ahead as you move on without this wonderful person in your life.

Steve Irwin was a conservatist and loved the animals that he filmed, he was never mean nor abusive to them. If you were anything of a human being you would just let it go, and not bring us all down to your level. Why would a adult go on saying that Terri Irwin is a heartless bitch? I was just stopping by and saw the comments posted about Steve Irwin...I for one find it extremely hard right now to watch his show on tv. I thought he was an idiot yeah, but I also thought that we learned alot about a species that we did not know much about and that being croc's and gator's. When they interviewing his wife, I found it very hard to sit there and not shed a tear. I admit that I have shed slot of tears in the past month over this. I saw the Barbara Walter's interview of Terri Irwin. Disgusting and Shameful. The ONLY reason that cold heartless bitch is holding back the tape is so that she can get a better price in a month or two. She had Bindi do the eulogy of her dead father complete with song and dance numbers. That kid doesn't know or grasp the enormity of her father's death. Terri was scary. She is all about the money. She said it was Steve's only wish to keep the busines going, and she looked mean, bitter and foul, and her "crocadile tears" were fake. She had no true emotion, and arroused no empathy. She looked and spoke like a cold blooded killer on death row. ABC TV did surreal editting by showing Bindi doing song and dance numbers at the memorial while her mom waxed about the business Steve created. All the while an audience of Rolf Harris look alikes sang Waltzing Matilda. I guess Terri's going to keep the abuse of animals going full tilt as long as one of her two kids are still alive and willing to be brainwashed.

Hopefully they don't broadcast the video footage of Steve Irwin, that should be left to those who were there and to the family. I, for one, agree with Coupleojars. I think Steve was less about the animals and more about himself. That's not to say that I'm glad he's dead and f**k you for thinking that! I said a long time ago that Steve would be killed by a creature that he was harassing and while he wasn't harassing this stingray per se, he still antagonized it by swimming in it's waters. He personally spent over 35 million dollars on land just so wildlife would still have a place to call theres. I will greatly miss him. My deepist sympathies go out to his family and friends.

Irwin made his millions from bullying animals. If you want to learn about wildlife watch David Attenborough... from him you get facts and see animals in their natural habitat. With Irwin you get him pulling pregnant female snakes out of their holes by their tail and baiting them into trying to bite him. He's never given a damn about wildlife. All he wanted was sensationalist glory. If it's ever shown I for one will watch him die and raise a glass to the stingray's achievement. Steve Irwin was the real article, articulate, energetic and passionate about his work and efforts to improve man's understanding of the animals who share this planet with him... Steve's candle burned brighter than most, he will be missed and the world has lost a true champion for protecting endangered species.

This line of comments should really be monitored. I'm all for free speech, but people should be more compassionate about the people Steve Irwin has left behind. What happens now is up to them, they need help and support from people, close to them, friends and family. The wider world, stunned and shocked now by Steve's death, must help continue his work. Pouring money into his worthy causes will be happening now, but in 12 months time - these causes will still need money. My family was truly devastated by Steve Irwins death. He was such a huge part of our lives.We loved his shows and had high hopes of meeting him one day.I think his dad summed it up best by saying he was an ordinary bloke.He(steve) wasn't in it for the recognition or glory.He was doing what he felt was his calling and what he loved best.Preserving wildlife.That being said,when it all comes down to it,how many of us would love to die doing what we love best?That in the end,would be the ultimate gift from God.

I've read many of the comments made by people and MUST say that I am saddened by the lack of compasion. HOW COULD PEOPLE BE SO COLD. There is a wife, daughter and son, not to mention Father, other family and many friends who are truly devasted by the loss of a man who loved nature and the conservation of animals. No matter what anyone may think, Steve Irwin was a man who had a zest for protecting animals, loved life, his family and friends and touched many a hearts with his geniune style of compassion. He was REAL unlike many people in our world today. SHAME ON THOSE OF YOU who would choose to make light of his death. I'm sure that Steve would not condemn you as a matter of fact, he would probably forgive you for that was the type of man he was - incredibly giving and remarkably forgiving to ignorance. TO THE IRWIN FAMILY, FRIENDS AND MANY SUPPORTERS of the Irwin family, Steve's wonderful personality will greatly be missed and his zest for teaching will most certainly be carried on by those he touched by his warrior zeal to protect the wildlife of our worlds. Every snake badgered by Irwin was at a huge disadvantage, with only a single possible reaction to its terrifying situation, which was to strike. Condolences to his family my thoughts are with you all As for the tape controversy I’m sure that Steve would have wanted us to see it, to take care of ourselves in the future. He would have wanted to show all his life on TV so that others can see the beautiful things he did. A state funeral? Why not, he wasn’t but the greatest hero of our world. He was only the earth’s original superman. No one else can ever take his place. We should all see his last road on this earth. He should be buried at the zoo, close to the ones that he loved so that he can always keep an eye on them and help them in rough times. CRIKEY! How sad that some of you see fit to show such disrespect for a husband, father, and well-known conservationalist that lost his life. We are surrounded daily by individuals in the media that provide negative vibes; influencing our own opinions and beliefs, as well as our children's. Steve Irwin was a gentleman that loved life, respected wildlife, and passionately melded the (2) in a positive & entertaining manner. Yeah, he made a lot of money doing so; heck, any number of us would jump at the chance to make a fortune doing what we love. But he also brought awareness. I don't think Steve Irwin, or his family, would place any blame on the stingray that inflicted the deadly spike into his chest; unlike many neysayers, the Irwin family is well aware of the dangers that are associated with their livelihood. Rather, I believe that they will use this incident, as sad as it is, to educate people all over the world. My children love to watch his show & have learned a lot from him. For that, Steve Irwin has won my respect. Instead of wasting our energy on spreading more negativity, let's use this medium to offer support & our condolences to his family & friends all over the world that have experienced a great loss.

Sincere regrets to a really nice family. Steve was one great guy, and a good father. The world will long miss and remember him for all that he did to help animals. I just looked at an old picture of me holding a stingray out of the water in Grand Cayman and thought " Lord, if I had only known what they can do to a human"...sure, I know they were more docile than the one that got Steve, but what if I had made him mad? Steve was one smart and brave fellow. He will not ever be replaced in the hearts of my family. I only hope he is able to look down on all the kindness people feel towards him and enjoy it!

Steve will be missed by many people. He brought passion to his work and loved it. His untimely death is probably due to global warming brought on by US republicans headed by George Bush and his cronies. Cause and effect are very important here. As the discoverer of global warming, I can with 100% accuracy declare that George Bush himself brough on the warming of our planet, which warmed up the oceans, especially in Australia and eventually made stingrays aggressive (they become in heat) and resulting in heated stingrays attacking people for no reason. I suggest a cooling down of the planet by having American voters elect a democrat president, preferably me if I run for the office.
