Well survivor has hit an all time low. I for one will not watch the rest of the show as a protest to what the producers have done. In effect they are rigging the show. forcing both tribes to put the best players under the gun. Then knowing that those two sluts lost on purpose just to get either James or Aaron out and doing nothing proves to me that the producers are either stupid or have corrupted the show. so long survivor for this season I hope there are many that feel the same way.

In response to previous posts about my comments: 1. I never mentioned my faith, so why did you? Presumptious perhaps? 2. As for the U.S. having never elected a woman president, the process of election has never excluded a woman from running. Those organizations I mentioned have specific rules excluding race and gender from holding office or being members. If a woman wishes to run for president, they certainly may, but the populace has to agree. So far they haven't, no so much as due to gender, but to electability.

Celebrate Diversity! - until someone tries to say that there are differences between races. This game is clearly rigged for the white team because: 1) The Asian team will win all of the mental challenges. 2) The Black team will win all of the physical challenges. 3) Because of 1&2, the White team will not have to vote off anyone of their own team until the later stages of the game. I understand the sarcasm bit, but it sounds like you've never watched the show. Because of 1&2, the White team will have to vote off members of their own team.

Abelincoln To use His teachings against His followers seems a bit of a pot shot, lacking any real conviction other than your disdain for Christians.
Honestly Abe, I was trying to make a point about hypocrisy--and it's sad to say that most Republicans I've seen on boards like this 'claim to be Christains' but unfortunately lack any sort of civility or compassion for anybody but their own kind (you know: American, white, Christian, working, and married). To claim all Christians are hypocrites for pointing out sin misses what Christ truly taught and that is to call all people to repentance of sin THROUGH Himself. Why is it that you failed to acknowledge that this jerk tried to paint a whole class (or party) of people with a brush of intolerence? That's reaaaal convenient. Furthurmore, would you have bothered to confront him for his claims if I hadn't posted? of You quote his words but do you believe what he says? Is He a simple convenience or the Son of God? Boy that's one I'd love to ask the president (and most politicians of both partys)..Unfortunately I think I know the answer. Frankly, I don't believe a word that comes from his mouth about his faith (or anything else for that matter). No true Christain would have allowed his people to do what they did to John McCain in S. Carolina in 2000 or Valerie Plame in (?)2004. He's bankrupted the country with his lies about WMD and frankly it amazes me that ANYONE with half a brain would believe that he is EVER trying to do the right thing. Say what you want about Clinton, but the man did have SOME congressional oversight. Since 9/11 this bunch of idiots in congress have rubber stamped every tax cut to the rich and corporate welfare bill sent their way by the Delay-Rove cabal. Am I a christian? Yes. Does my pastor constatly remind us that it's 'religious types' that keep the unsaved out of church? you bet. Oh, about the show. I guess this will increase its ratings. I hope so. We never miss a show.

Hey, you guys need to calm down. This is all in fun. So, I don't spell so good (phisical\physical) - what do you expect? I'm an American on the go. This isn't a spelling quiz, it's foder for all. We all know he's doing this for ratings, and so it is. Nothing more, nothing less. It's the American way. Hell, you Europeans do the same stuff, you just like to dress as women. People are going to watch, and around the water cooler there will be disagreements. It's just the ways it is. Oh yeah, Jesus has a sence of humor too, hell, he made Phillippineos. OPPS, probably spelled that wrong too.

To President abelincoln: First, thanks for giving us identical posts twice in a row. I found the second one even more powerful. Second, I don't think it's fair to accuse gopblows of anti-Christian bias. He/she simply observed that there are a lot of conservatives on this board whose politics are heavily informed by their religious beliefs. Nothing wrong with that, but there's an unsettling irony involved when (as is usually the case on this board) the posts are filled with vile invective of a condemning nature; it simply doesn't seem consistent with Christ's teachings, whether one believes them or not. Far from merely "pointing out the sins" of others, many of the posts on this site have crude insults hiding behind the guise of Christianity. Religion loses its power in such a context and becomes a cheapened rhetorical device. Third, nice post Dbernstein. You tore sleeperd and his fallacious reasoning to shreds. Finally, to TomN: so it's problematic and anti-male that the 40-year old National Organization for WOMEN has never elected a male president? Wouldn't it therefore be more troublesome that a MUCH larger and older entity (like, uh, the USA) has never elected a woman president?

sleeperd posted comments: "on this site are trying to justify what"... "...they would be apoplectic over if it was coming from, say, Rush Limbaugh." Huh? Ok, let me see here: I'm trying to justify my position that the producer of this program does not have a basic understanding of racism, illustrated by the fact that he expects there to be no racial tensions within, to use one of the four groups as an example, an "all-Asian" group. If Rush Limbaugh were to take the same position as me, I would completely agree with him. I suspect his head would explode first though. "You psuedo-intelluctual empty-headed morons just don't get it." For gods sakes man, if you're going to call someone a pseudo intellectual DON'T MISSPELL "pseudo"! " You liberal fools can barely spell the word let alone define it..." Uh, were you being ironic there? And in addition to calling those who disagree with you 'psuedo-intellectual' [sic] and 'morons', you include these two little gems: "... the liberal weasels." "Get a life, you network-groveling nincompoops!" Seriously man, are you an adult? Are you incapable of making your case without resorts to name calling and taunts like 'get a life'?

Come on, the guys rating have been down, and he had to add a little spice to the show. It's going to be fun. Now, if they are going to put the players into racial groups, then there might be a disadvantage for some of them. For example: Jews: - We all know they'll never win a phisical challenge. However, if there's a challenge that has to do with whining, and complaining, then they will have an unfair advantage. Asians: - Again, no change at winning a phisical challenge, but if there's a challenge that has to do with dry cleaning, or even some type of accounting challenge, then they have an advantage. Mexicans: - Well, they could win most of the phisical challenges, and also most of the mental challenges. As a matter of fact, they would probably win it all, but, they'll proabaly too hung-over to even make it to half the challenges. Black: - Most of all the phisical challenges they would win, but again, that's based on the mexican sleeping it off. The tricky part will be the mental challenges. If they lose, then for sure they'll claim some form of racism. You could be assured that somewhere down the line, the blacks will find some shinny object, and that would be more then enough to distract them. They don't have a chance. White: - This will be very simple. All the whites will have to do is sitback, and watch the circus. It's a done deal.

Survivor is a fantastic show; a show that has challenged all social and cultural barriers while causing its participants and viewers to personally reflect on thier own character and self-worth. The awareness of Race has always been and has also never been the focus of the show. More ofetn, gender has been the dividing line...with females usdually demonstarting overall perseverance. Race is a cultrual certainty all over the globe. Our unintentional differences should be intentionally examined and thank goodness for Survivor, where ultimately race and gender will not be the deciding factor. Survival based on intelligence, fitness, courage, and most of all luck will keep us entertained and philosophical.

You psuedo-intelluctual empty-headed morons just don't get it. The main stream networks are the biggest race-baiters in the country! Their news networks and their liberal sycophants have made a virtual living off of racial agitation for the past 40 years. DUH!! Diversity!?? You liberal fools can barely spell the word let alone define it. There is not a single example on this planet where enforced, artificial "diversity" has led to a peaceful society. I am not at all "racist," but I might suggest that it is a common practice of people everywhere that they typically have more friends and associates of their own race. That is NOT a "racist" practice, ...it's simply natural behavior. It does not display hatred, but rather a simple preference in commonality and is absolutely normal.

I'm a die hard Survivor fan... I can say by what I've read that Mark Burnett gave the show a twist and by creating teams composed of like people is no different than when he has done it with Men and Women... Like people of different ethnic backgrounds. I'm not sure... but I see this happen all the time. People who are alike hang out together... they live together... and there is some co-mingling but on the off hours... there is a HUGE portion of our society that just hangs with what is comfortable, what is familiar and what they know. That is who we are! Those who are making a scene like the "Politicians" in NYC... they are all just trying to stir the divide and make a name for themselves. Don't knock the show until you watch it. If it's offensive then complain... until then... take a chill and just ignore the hype and negativity. Personally I look forward to each and every show... why? I think it is fun to see what Survivor does to people. Sure it is a controlled environment... and the show is edited to make us keep coming back for more. That's what makes it great!!! Loosen up people!! Or better yet... visit WATTS or COMPTON or downtown LA... or Beverly Hills... life is that people of like economic status hang out... religious folks hang out with those of the same beliefs... cultures and ethnic backgrounds do the same... it's just natural!

Now I get it. Those segregated restrooms I used to see as a kid were actually to "eliminate any tension between the groups and thus avoid racism". Thank God that CBS and "Survivor" was here to teach us just how far ahead of their time people like George Wallace and Robert Byrd were. Maybe one lucky contestant can win immunity by being drug behind a pickup truck. After you rub the two sticks together to make fire just fashion them into a nice cross. Sometimes I think whatever mental problem Dan Rather had must have been contagious because it's spread like wildfire at CBS.

Okay, now I'm offended. Its taken this dumb TV show 5 or 6 years to get to me, but god damn it this is revolting. Lets start with Burnett's reference to the groups being divided by 'ethnicity' and therefore incapable of racism. All these references to 'ethnicity' ignore the fact that there are dozens if not hundreds of 'ethnicities' within each of the four groups! Does this idiot actually believe that there would be no racism within a group of white people? Or black people? And "Asians"? Thats not an ethnicity. There is racism between light-skinned African-Americans and darker-skinned African Americans, between African and Carribean blacks, between white Italians and Irish and Jews and scores of others, between Puerto Ricans and Mexicans, between every damn group under the sun. Burnett was born and raised in England and served in his Queen's Army in Northern Ireland and Argentina. He did not come to America until he was 22. (hmmm... Ireland and Argentina, both predominently white countries, and yet...) I would never say that someone who did not grow up in the USA is incapable of understanding our greatest problem, racism against each other, but its crystal clear that Burnett has no understanding of it whatsoever.

What I find interesting about this is what Mark Burnette was probably hoping other intelligent viewers would find interesting. Namely that in this modern generation which so embraces 'equality' and interracial marriage, there is still a lot of fear in people with regard to race. I wonder what the protesters lining up outside of CBS are so afraid of? Are they afraid that their own race is going to appear inferior somehow, and why do they feel that way? It looks like to me that if people are truly proud of their race, and of themselves (that is to say, not ashamed or their race and ashamed of themselves), that they would not mind something like this. I think that it's the protestors themselves that are backwards on this one. It's a shame they can't lighten up a little.

Political Correctness has become the bane of our society. Perhaps this could be a very insightful sociological experiment giving us insight to why certain groups thrive while others fail. This is truley a level playing field without the advantages or disadvantages of affirmative action, discrimination, or bias alter the outcome of the end results. I am not a watcher of the show, but I applaud the creators for being bold, sticking to a format that clearly causes controversy, but is not racist by any means. The irony is, the same people that claim this is racist support multi-culturalism in our country, "the melting pot" which creates a separatist and divisive environment which is exactly opposite of the intention of our founding fathers. Think about that hipocracy.

BTW, before your kvetching, I watched every episode of Thailand series and several other individual shows - but last several years have been boring.
