It would be very foolish for Jesse to go in and try to take away Janine's custody. Janine is Sunny's mother; being away from her Mommy for 6 months while she is still so young and vulnerable will be a nightmare for Sunny, no matter how well-behaved she is when she's with Sandra and Jesse and no matter how horrid a mother Janine is. Sandra's wisest move would be to persuade Jesse to present a reasonable joint custody plan to Janine, and if necessary to the court; encourage Jesse to take Sunny to visit her Mom often; encourage Janine to get some parenting coaching if he's really concerned about Sunny's wellbeing;and NEVER say a bad word about Janine while Sunny is with them.
