i think bono could not care less about destroying the character of a charming part or Dublin , he is only interested in his own over blown ego and his own lact of character has become evident.

I truly hope that Bono , and The Edge win their fight for building the Clarence up. Doesn't Ireland know that it will bring in a lot of jobs, plus a lot a tourism. I think it's a win win situation. Employment, and tourism. Do people really understand wh at kind of people would come to stay in the hotel, and what kind of tourists will want to se something so unique, that they will be coming in by 6 figures, which is also money for Ireland, to create new jobs, or whatever needs to be done? The capital of Ireland should just give them the go ahead. P.S. This is to Smokey, U2 will still have world tours as they know that not everyone could afford to come to Ireland. The top floor is suppose to be a recording studio, not an arena.

I'd lots rather Bono spend that money building a giant arena and give concerts in it, that way he could stay home and not have to tour the world.
