Bette Midler Message Board and Comments

Jeez, another loudmouthed jew. Jewish women are SO
aggressive!
.
I think Bette is a fantastic person and her singing and acting has always
inspired me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion! so leave the woman
alone. You go girl! No-one will ever stop such an honest and truthful person
like Bette from saying what she really feels.
Bette is a great comedian and actress. She does have her ways about her but I
judge her by her work and not her personal opinion. Not to mention she is a
really good singer.
Bette Midler is a comedian--remember that.
On the other hand, Bette Midler is an American, and as a *great* American
President, Theodore Roosevelt wrote:
"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public
servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is
warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in
rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole.
Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell
the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame
him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right.
Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce
that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by
the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is
morally treasonable to the American public.
Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is
even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than
about any one else."
Bette Midler is an idiot. She was supposed to be out there to get people to
send money in for Katrina victims. Why did she feel the need to slam the
President at a time like that. It was not the appropriate place and if that's
what she needs to do to get a cheap laugh, maybe it's time she hangs it up. If
she feels he isn't doing something right, sit down and write him a letter,
don't use a benefit concert to voice your opinion. I know that if I had sent
money in during that benefit, I would have rescinded it after I heard her
remark and I'm sure that's what happened after she said it. I'm not the only
one that feels this way and she probably lost money for the relief victims.
Maybe she'll make it up out of her own pocket.
