Abigail Breslin Message Board and Comments
Comments
I have just become aware of the controversy around the selection of Ms. Breslin
to play Helen Keller in the revival of, "The Miracle Worker".
I think she is an EXCELLENT choice given the breadth of roles she has played
and the sensitivity with which she creates her characters.
I have worked at the Perkins School for the Blind for almost 40 years and all
the years I have worked with Deafblind people. One can't be involved on any
level with a person with deafblindness without having a sensitivity to "life";
Abigail seems to have this and I think she is going to be great in this role.
Our school welcomes visitors and if Ms. Breslin or anyone else associated with
the play would like to come meet some of our children and see where Helen
Keller and Ann Sullivan inspired an lifetime of education, please feel free to
get in touch!.
I will be making sure I am in the front row on Opening Night!
