Simple Plan

Simple Plan Biography

Simple Plan
Simple Plan is: PIERRE BOUVIER: Vocals - CHUCK COMEAU: Drums - DAVID DESROSIERS: Bass, Backing Vocals - SEBASTIEN LEFEBVRE: Guitar, Backing Vocals - JEFF STINCO: Lead Guitar.

The roots of Simple Plan go to back to the group RESET, a punk group formed by Pierre Bouvier and Chuck Comeau in 1994 at the age of 13. The group toured around Canada with other punk bands and they sold over 2,000 copies of their debut album on cassette. Comeau left the group to attend college, but later began making music with new friends Sebastien Lefebvre and Jeff Stinco.Formation Of Simple Plan: Pierre Bouvier and Chuck Comeau met again in 1999 at a Sugar Ray concert. Before long they had plans for a new band that included Stinco and Lefebvre as well. David Desrosiers replaced Bouvier in RESET, but he was then asked to join the new group being formed, and Simple Plan was born. Success: RESET, in its earlier incarnation, had secured spots on the Vans Warped Tour, the annual ska/punk extravaganza. In 2001 Simple Plan joined the tour and quickly gained a strong fan following. The group headed into the studio in 2002 to record their first album. Good Charlotte's Joel Madden and blink-182's Mark Hoppus assisted in the recording sessions. The fruit of these first recording sessions, the album No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls, was released in the spring of 2003 and brought Simple Plan's fiery pop punk to the charts. It reached #35 on the Billboard pop albums chart and included the top 40 hit single "Perfect." The band picked up a large fan base through incessant touring in support of the album. In October, 2004 the band's followup Still Not Getting Any... was released. This album was more polished and produced by Bob Rock, the man behind the boards for classic albums from Bon Jovi and Metallica. The new album showed off a well-crafted modern rock side to the band and veered away from a complete focus on punk pop. Still Not Getting Any... was an immediate success. The group's strong fan base helped the album reach #3 on the chart. The ballad "Untitled (How Could This Happen To Me?)" became the band's biggest hit single yet reaching #23 on the pop singles chart.
