Universal Motown Records has signed Los Angeles indie rock quartet Shiny Toy Guns, announced Sylvia Rhone, President of Universal Motown Records, with the much-buzzed about group slated to release their major label debut album on October 3. "Shiny Toy Guns exemplifies everything that is vital and unique about contemporary music," stated Ms. Rhone. Shiny Toy Guns hails from Los Angeles, and have quickly become a fixture of the West Coast's crackling indie electro scene. The group formed in 2003, garnering a widespread and loyal fan base with their substantive, edgier brand of synth-influenced pop. The charismatic foursome's current single, "Le Disko," has already become a staple of leading edge Los Angeles radio station KROQ. Shiny Toy Gun bandmembers include vocalist Carah Faye Charnow, Gregori Chad Petree, (guitar, vocals), Jeremy Dawson (synthesizer), and Mike Martin (drums).
