Foy Vance Biography

Foy Vance
After completing a successful tour of the UK and Ireland including a crowd wowing performance at iTunes Live Sessions (with KT Tuntsall, Billy Bragg and Leo Abrahams) at the legendary AIR Studios, Foy Vance has just returned from the US where he performed at The Craic Music & Film Festival in NYC, Nashville and Texas for SXSW.

April 28th sees the release of two new tracks - both re-workings of tracks from `Hope'. Future Cut (Lilly Allen, Dizzy Rascal, Kelis etc) co-produced and mixed a re-worked version of `Shed A Little Light' adding horns and organ to the gospel vibe of the original. `Shed A Little Light' has been receiving plays on both Radio 2 (Jonathan Ross, Gideon Coe) and Radio 1 and it has now been added on Radio 2's B List.

A complete re-recording of `Be With Me', produced by The Free Association a.k.a. David Holmes, carries Holmes' trademark beats set against a jazzy, cinematic, southern gothic ambience studded with electronic swashes and synths.

Foy's debut album `Hope' was released last summer to wide critical acclaim. The Belfast Telegraph named Foy `the most important solo musician to emerge from Northern Ireland since Van Morrison' and the album received glowing reviews from publications as diverse as Uncut, Maverick, The Sunday Times, The Sun, The Daily Mirror and The Daily Mail among many others.

In-between a busy touring schedule which also included a prison tour, Foy appears on Leo Abrahams' new album `The Unrest Cure' which also features Brian Eno, KT Tunstall and Ed Harcourt.
