Aaliyah Biography
Pop/RnB princess Aaliyah Dana Haughton (January 16, 1979 - August 25, 2001), was an actress, model & RnB singer. She starred in films alongside Jet Li & Stuart Townsend.
Aaliyah was born in Bedford Brooklyn, New York but actually grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Aaliyah's mother was also a singer and always encouraged her daughter's career. Aaliyah's aunt is the legendary soul singer, Gladys Knight.
Aaliyah released albums such as Age Ain't Nothing But a Number [1994] & One in a Million [1996].
On August 25, 2001, Aaliyah and boarded a twin engine Cessna 402B (N8097W) the plane crashed shortly after takeoff about 200 feet from the runway. The Pilot and all 8 passengers were killed in the accident.
Keep working hard and you can get anything that you want. If God gave you the talent, you should go for it. But don't think it's going to be easy. It's hard! -Aaliyah
