Fresh from announcing their initial line up last week, Bestival have revealed that the critically acclaimed Manchester dance act New Order will be headlining the festival on Saturday 8th September 2012. Bestival founder Rob da Bank announced on the festival's official website: 'So I've got Blue Monday blaring out of the Bestival HQ office speakers as we unveil our iconic Saturday night headliner New Order. It doesn't get better than that. but it does! True Faith, Bizarre Love Triangle, Fine Time, Regret - so many amazing records i grew up listening to and still listen to now and they still sound immense, pioneering, legendary. See you down the front!'

Forming in 1980, New Order had success with the aforementioned Blue Monday, which became the biggest selling twelve inch single of all time upon its release in 1983. Ten years after Blue Monday was released, New Order went on hiatus until 1998. They split again in 2007 and only reformed in 2011, with Gillian Gilbert returning and Peter Hook leaving.

More acts that have been announced include Friendly Fires, who scored a hit with their recent summery single Hawaiian Air; the psychedelic Death In Vegas; Django Django and Zulu Winter. They will be joining acts such as The XX; Two Door Cinema Club and Emeli Sande, who were announced in the initial line up.

Bestival have also announced a new event that will take place at night: DJs and musicians, including Rob Da Bank, will showcase unique cinematic collaborations from some of your favourite films. Bestival has yet to announce the full line up, so keep an eye out for more news.
