Punk rockers New Found Glory have become the latest band to scrap a planned gig in New Jersey as a result of superstorm Sandy.

The Hit or Miss stars were due to perform in Sayreville next month (Dec12), but the concert has since been axed as the venue was too badly damaged during the natural disaster, which wreaked havoc across America's East Coast in late October (12).

The group broke the news to fans via Twitter.com this week (begs12Nov12) and urged them to donate to the ongoing Hurricane Sandy relief effort.

They wrote, "Due to damages caused by Hurricane Sandy we must cancel our show at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, Nj on December 19th.

"To make donations for all of those affected by Hurricane Sandy follow the @RedCross link: http://www.redcross.org/charitable-donations."

Poison frontman Bret Michaels also had to cancel his upcoming show at Asbury Park in New Jersey due to similar circumstances as the state was one of the worst-hit areas during the storm.
