Nero's fourth single, 'Promises', is out on August 8th 2011 and is taken from the forthcoming debut album 'Welcome Reality', which will be released on the 15th August, on MTA records.
In keeping with the single's futuristic sound, the video is set in a minimalistic room and features a group of people being controlled, with two rebelling and getting separated in the climax of the video. This is interspersed with shots of Alana Watson singing.
Nero are a drum and bass duo from London. The pair - Daniel Stevens and Joe Ray - formed in 2004 and were later joined by Alana Watson in 2008, who provides vocals for many of their tracks. In previous years they have remixed tracks by La Roux, Deadmau5 and Daft Punk. Their second single 'Me & You' charted at number 15 in January 2011, while their most recent single, 'Guilt', reached number 8; it was also DJ Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record in the World' in February 2011.
In June 2011, Nero collaborated with the British Philharmonic Orchestra and composer Joe Duddell to perform 'Dubstep Symphony' which was simulcast on BBC Radio 1 and its sister station, BBC Radio 1Xtra and hosted by Zane Lowe and Mistajam respectively. Nero have performed at the festivals Glastonbury and Wireless and will be joining British rapper Tinie Tempah on his arena tour in the autumn.
