Nelly Announces UK Show On May 8th 2014 With Support From Trevor Nelson And Dj Swerve

CME presents US-rapper Nelly, who will play a one-night-only UK live date on 8 May 2014 at The Forum in London. The highly-anticipated show from will showcase his well-known classics as well as new material from his recently released M.O album, including the single Get Like Me (Ft. Nicki Minaj & Pharrell). With debut album Country Grammar in 2000 and hits including Country Grammar (Hot..), Ride Wit Me and E.I, Nelly crossed the line between rap and pop with ease, becoming a worldwide success and collaborating with artists as diverse as Lil Wayne, Justin Timberlake, Kelly Rowland and Tim McGraw.

Coming straight out of St Louis, Nelly's crossover appeal was routed in his universality; not representing the East or West coasts, Nelly had free range to provide a new sound and his midwestern country drawl stood him apart from the pack.

Nelly's first foray into music was with St Lunatics, alongside a group of his peers; Big Lee, Kyjuan, Murphy Lee and City Spud). Shortly after the St Lunatics began releasing material, Universal Records signed Nelly onto a solo deal. Country Grammar debuted at Number 3 on the Billboard Album chart, climbing to the Number one spot shortly afterward.

Nelly went on to release second album Nellyville in 2002, again topping the Billboard album charts. His lead single Hot in Herre was produced by The Neptunes and also topped the US singles chart and reached number 4 in the UK singles chart. Other hit tracks from Nellyville included Dilemma (ft. Kelly Rowland) and Work It (ft. Justin Timberlake). Nelly's stream of hits continued unabated in the wake of Nellyville as well as album releases; Sweatsuit (2004), Brass Knuckles (2008) and 5.0 (2010), top hits included: Shake Ya Tail Feather from the Bad Boys II film soundtrack, Flap Your Wings, My Place, Tilt Ya Head Back (ft. Christina Aguilera), Over and Over (ft. Tim McGraw) and Grillz.

In 2013, Nelly released his latest album M.O which includes features from Pharrell, Nicki Minaj and Nelly Furtado.
