Neil Young joined Pearl Jam onstage for their Sunday night (11Sep11) concert in Toronto, Canada.
The rock veteran stepped out at the Air Canada Centre for an encore of his Rockin' in the Free World at the end of the group's two-and-a-half-hour set.
Frontman Eddie Vedder introduced the special guest as "Uncle Neil" and harmonised with him on one microphone, suggesting even the band had no idea Young would be joining them.
Pearl Jam, who are in Toronto promoting their new Pearl Jam Twenty documentary at the city's film festival, served as Young's backing band on his 1995 album Mirror Ball.
Young is also in Toronto promoting a movie - he's premiering Jonathan Demme's new film Neil Young Journeys.
