Neil Young has announced a surprise 10 date American theatre tour, kicking off on 15th April 2011 in Durham, North Carolina.
Neil Young, the legendary Canadian singer-songwriter, will head off on a solo tour of the US in April and May before joining up with Buffalo Springfield later this year, reports Rolling Stone. The new dates will be a continuation of Young's 2010 'Twisted Road' tour, in support of his latest album 'Le Noise'. The 65-year-old is likely to perform most of the songs from the Daniel Lanois produced record, which was lauded by critics on release. However, fans will no doubt be treated to classics from Young's back catalogue, such as 'Ohio', 'Down By The River' and 'Helpless'. The tour will pass through Boston, Providence, New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Cincinnati and Detroit, before finishing in Chicago on 7th May 2011.
After wrapping up the tour, Neil Young is slated to perform at the Bonnaroo festival with Buffalo Springfield. The band's singer and guitarist Richie Furay recently revealed on his official blog that a full tour is provisionally planned for September, but added, "There is no word yet on a rehearsal or tour schedule so there is still a chance that things could fail to materialize".
