The show proved hugely successful for its streaming service home, Netflix.
Back in 2004, Jim Carrey would take the lead role in a movie adaptation of the first three books in the Lemony Snicket property, 'A Series Of Unfortunate Events'. Whilst many loved his rendition of the evil Count Olaf and enjoyed the flick, it wasn't the best-received movie, and those interested soon learned that its first big screen outing would also be its last.
Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf in Netflix's 'A Series Of Unfortunate Events'
Fast-forward to the modern day, and the series has been given new life in the form of a Netflix original. Premiering earlier this year, fans got to witness Neil Patrick Harris take on the role of Count Olaf, starring amongst a talented cast that also included Patrick Warburton, Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes.
The series is set to hit Netflix in January.

Neil Patrick Harris stars as Count Olaf in 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'
This Netflix Original Series is adapted from the popular Lemony Snicket (real name Daniel Handler) book series of the same name, with the 8-episode first season focusing on the first three books of the series; 'The Bad Beginning', 'The Reptile Room' and 'The Wide Window'.
They're all openly gay, but you might not know it with some of them.
Ian McKellen has offered his own opinion about diversity in Hollywood following the #OscarsSoWhite controversy. He believes that it's not only black people who are being overlooked in the film industry, but gay actors too; especially since straight stars have indeed won Oscars for playing gay men (Tom Hanks, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Sean Penn) but never the other way round.
It is more frequent than one first might believe that gay people in the acting world are often playing straight roles - sometimes exclusively - and there are very few who have found themselves playing only gay characters. Here are just a few gay stars who've played gay roles in their careers:
Rock previously hosted the Oscars back in 2005.
The 50 year old comedian and actor, whose career was dramatized in a recent movie Top Five, confirmed the news himself on Wednesday morning (October 21st) by tweeting a picture of himself holding one of the golden statuettes.
“I'm so glad to be hosting the Oscars,” said Rock in a statement. “It's great to be back.” Of course, he previously hosted the Oscars back in 2005, when Clint Eastwood’s Million Dollar Baby bagged the Best Picture. This makes him one of the select list of celebs who’ve hosted the big night twice in their careers in the recent past, alongside the likes of Jon Stewart, Ellen DeGeneres and Billy Crystal.

However, he's said before that he doesn't hold much hope of being asked again.
Harris, 42, was speaking to Us Weekly on Friday (September 4th) when he said that he’d be up for the task, one of the most prestigious and scrutinised roles in showbiz, if the Oscars organisers approached him for a second time. “I knew what I was getting into. It's a beast, but I'd love to do it again if I was asked!” he said.

Re-branded as 'The Best Time Ever', the Geordie duo will be there to help Harris to present the first show on NBC in September.
British presenting veterans Ant & Dec are to make a return to US television after their failed attempt to launch their career Stateside seven years ago.
NBC is launching a rebranded version of the Geordie duo’s early evening favourite ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ in America with the title ‘The Best Time Ever’, to be presented by Neil Patrick Harris. However, Harris has revealed that he’s asked Ant & Dec to help him present the first show next month.

Ellen Degeneres, Neil Patrick Harris and others show their happiness over the news.
All around the world hearts are bursting with victory as marriage equality is held up by law in every single US state. Celebrities have flocked to Twitter in their hundreds to express their support of the news, as the Supreme Court finally rules that same-sex marriage is legal under the Constitution.
Ellen Degeneres Tweeted her support of the marriage equality ruling
It's been a long time coming but the US has finally followed in the footsteps of the UK and Ireland by legalizing same-sex marriage in a move that has touched the hearts of millions. Justice Anthony M. Kennedy revealed the majority opinion was 5 to 4, before sharing his own thoughts on the verdict for those who would be affected. 'Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves', he said. 'Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization's oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.'

Luckily for the human race, dinosaurs were wiped from the face of the Earth millions and millions of years ago after a deadly asteroid struck the globe. But what would the world be like if that meteorite missed the planet, sparing the colossal creatures much loved by children? Troubled but determined, he sets out on formidable journey to find his way back to his family again and on the way meets a young human boy, who he is quick to befriend. If you thought dinosaurs couldn't be compassionate and make awesome friends, you were so wrong.

The tenth season of the NBC favourite kicked off last night (Tuesday May 26th), and the sometimes controversial journalist posted on Twitter: “BREAKING NEWS: America's Got Talent returns for Season 10 tonight... and I return to the judges' desk later this summer.”

It's one of the UK's most famous charity fundraisers - undertaken mainly for Comic Relief - but this year goes international for a host of charitable foundations.
Annoyingly, curvy reality star Kim Kardashian is now so good at posing in front of a camera that she even manages to maintain that seductive aura even while holding a novelty clown nose to her face, but many other celebrities provided some well needed laughs on this momentous occasion.
