When Netflix announced they'd be bringing Lemony Snicket's novel series 'A Series Of Unfortunate Events' to the streaming service, fans of the stories were excited to find out that there would be another attempt at adapting the books, but this time for the small screen. It followed the unsuccessful movie which brought the first three books to the big screen, and saw Jim Carrey take on the role of the villainous Count Olaf.

Neil Patrick Harris has slammed fellow actor James Woods as "classless" in the wake of the recent Pride celebrations, in which the 70 year old actor made an aggressive and uncalled-for tweet about a young transgender child.

The Once Upon a Time in America star shared a picture taken of a family with their son at the Orange County Pride Parade in California, which bore posters reading: “I love my gender creative son!” and “My son wears dresses & makeup… Get over it!!”

Woods captioned the photo: “This is sweet. Wait until this poor kid grows up, realizes what you’ve done, and stuffs both of you dismembered into a freezer in the garage.”

Ian McKellen has offered his own opinion about diversity in Hollywood following the #OscarsSoWhite controversy. He believes that it's not only black people who are being overlooked in the film industry, but gay actors too; especially since straight stars have indeed won Oscars for playing gay men (Tom Hanks, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Sean Penn) but never the other way round.

Chris Rock To Return As Oscars Host For 2016 Ceremony

Chris Rock has been unveiled as the host of next year’s Academy Awards ceremony, the second time that the star has fronted the live telecast of the biggest night in Hollywood.

The 50 year old comedian and actor, whose career was dramatized in a recent movie Top Five, confirmed the news himself on Wednesday morning (October 21st) by tweeting a picture of himself holding one of the golden statuettes.

“I'm so glad to be hosting the Oscars,” said Rock in a statement. “It's great to be back.” Of course, he previously hosted the Oscars back in 2005, when Clint Eastwood’s Million Dollar Baby bagged the Best Picture. This makes him one of the select list of celebs who’ve hosted the big night twice in their careers in the recent past, alongside the likes of Jon Stewart, Ellen DeGeneres and Billy Crystal.

Though his first attempt at hosting The Oscars proved to be rather divisive, Neil Patrick Harris has admitted that he’d really love a second opportunity.

Harris, 42, was speaking to Us Weekly on Friday (September 4th) when he said that he’d be up for the task, one of the most prestigious and scrutinised roles in showbiz, if the Oscars organisers approached him for a second time. “I knew what I was getting into. It's a beast, but I'd love to do it again if I was asked!” he said.

NBC is launching a rebranded version of the Geordie duo’s early evening favourite ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ in America with the title ‘The Best Time Ever’, to be presented by Neil Patrick Harris. However, Harris has revealed that he’s asked Ant & Dec to help him present the first show next month.

All around the world hearts are bursting with victory as marriage equality is held up by law in every single US state. Celebrities have flocked to Twitter in their hundreds to express their support of the news, as the Supreme Court finally rules that same-sex marriage is legal under the Constitution.

It's been a long time coming but the US has finally followed in the footsteps of the UK and Ireland by legalizing same-sex marriage in a move that has touched the hearts of millions. Justice Anthony M. Kennedy revealed the majority opinion was 5 to 4, before sharing his own thoughts on the verdict for those who would be affected. 'Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves', he said. 'Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization's oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.'

Luckily for the human race, dinosaurs were wiped from the face of the Earth millions and millions of years ago after a deadly asteroid struck the globe. But what would the world be like if that meteorite missed the planet, sparing the colossal creatures much loved by children? While the thought might be somewhat terrifying, this is a story about a young Apatosaurus named Arlo who's not such a danger to his fellow Earthlings. After a family tragedy, Arlo finds himself shaken and confused and winds up injured, only to then find himself far away from home. Troubled but determined, he sets out on formidable journey to find his way back to his family again and on the way meets a young human boy, who he is quick to befriend. If you thought dinosaurs couldn't be compassionate and make awesome friends, you were so wrong.

Four years after he left the show, Piers Morgan has announced that he’ll be returning to the panel of ‘America’s Got Talent’ this year – as a guest judge. The British columnist and talking head announced the news on Twitter on Tuesday just ahead of the premiere of the show’s new season.

The tenth season of the NBC favourite kicked off last night (Tuesday May 26th), and the sometimes controversial journalist posted on Twitter: “BREAKING NEWS: America's Got Talent returns for Season 10 tonight... and I return to the judges' desk later this summer.”
