Acclaimed playwright and filmmaker Neil LaBute has teamed up with the Los Angeles Times online to craft a play in an afternoon.
The Wicker Man director and fellow playwright Theresa Rebeck have signed on to create a play based on ideas from Times readers in real time on Tuesday (13Sep11).
LaBute and Rebeck won't know what they're writing about before they start and readers of the Times' Culture Monster blog have been asked to vote on characters and scenarios.
They include: "Ann, the Ceo of a large corporation, is interviewing Steve for a job, not realising they had a one-night stand a few years ago. Will he let her know?" and, "Former childhood sweethearts Jenn and Joe, now married to others, reunite at their 20th high school reunion."
