R&B star Ne-Yo is in no rush to wed his girlfriend because he wants "time to enjoy" married life away from the pressures of work.

The singer and his partner Monyetta Shaw met in 2009 and are parents to daughter Madilyn, who turns two later this month (Nov12), and one-year-old son Mason.

The couple was rumoured to be engaged last year (11), but the So Sick hitmaker denied the gossip, and he insists when he does wed Shaw he will be taking time off from work to appreciate their time together.

He tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "I'm not considering (marriage) until we have time to enjoy it. There's nothing worse than saying 'I do' and then rushing off on tour for four months."

Opening up about the relationship, Ne-Yo adds, "We became friends first - which was strange for me - really, really cool friends first. It's rare when that happens. She proved to me there is no agenda. She's not trying to get money, fame or recognition."
