One week after reportedly asking NBC to let her out of her contract, Ann Curry is still waiting for a response, reported on Wednesday. The gossip website reported last week that Jeff Zucker, Curry's old boss at NBC, where she was the news reader on the Today show for 14 years before becoming co-host in 2011, would like her to replace Anderson Cooper at CNN when Zucker begins running the cable news network next month. Curry became the scapegoat when ratings for the morning show fell behind ABC's Good Morning America last year, and she was given a role as a special assignments reporter. Since then, ratings For Today have tumbled further. A RadarOnline source described NBC's response to Curry's request to leave as radio silence, adding, Ann's reporting on air has been greatly diminished, and she is ready to move on. Ann's lawyer is continuing to hope that NBC will do the right thing, but, if necessary, she will pursue a breach of contract lawsuit against NBC, and she would have an excellent case.
