National Geographic Wednesday 2nd July 2008 10, 512 shoes on display in the courtyard at the National Geographic Society. National Geographic Kids magazine now has the Guinness World Record for the longest chain of shoes. Peter Wajda organized a shoe drive recruiting family, schoolmates and his pediatrician and collected 509 shoes.These used sneakers will be shipped off to Nike's 'Reuse-a-Shoe' program which will be recycled into material to build athletic surfaces such as basketball courts, soccer fields and playgrounds Washington DC, USA
