Flutes, Violins and Cello's are not the first musical instruments that spring to mind when thinking about Hip Hop. Nathan Flutebox Lee takes these classical tools and drags them into the 21st century blending Hip Hop, Dub Step and beat-boxing together with Eastern tinged Jazz and funk.
Nathan has branched out from humble beginnings as a pirate radio jungle MC and now boldly, with his band The Clinic, he is taking urban music into new uncharted territories with his debut EP 'Flutebox E.P ' produced by Multi Award Winning Scratch DJ champion DJ Tigerstyle and released through 'Swaraj Music'.
Nathan started out working on a building site before making a name for himself as the go-to session guy for flute playing, partly due to his unique trademark 'Fluteboxing' style. Over the past five years he has collaborated with great artists such as Plan B, The Roots, Nitin Sawhney, The Prodigy and Hip Hop legend GURU.
Nathan has also 'cut his teeth' as a main stay at UK festivals including Bestival, Womad, and Glastonbury Festival. Nathan Flutebox Lee now takes his musical evolution to the next stage with his band of talented musicians and MC's featuring DJ Tigerstyle (human beatboxer) Hanif Khan (rapper) Skrein (viola player) WanDan (tabla player) Mike Pagulatos and keyboard player Maquenzie.
