Natalie Portman wed fiance and 'Black Swan' co-star Benjamin Millepied at Big Sur in California at the weekend wearing a calf-length 1950's style swing dress as her wedding outfit.
Natalie Portman's wedding dress was white with a pinched in waist and a sheer overlay that covered her arms and chest and is the typical '50s tea-length style. It was reportedly designed by Rodarte, run by Laura and Kate Mulleavy who happen to be two of Portman's friends, who also designed her long plum dress which she wore while pregnant with son Aleph when she won her Oscar for her role as Nina in the psychological thriller 'Black Swan'. The Israeli/ American actress wore a long veil with the dress which is typical of a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony.
At first glance, the frock appeared to be designed by Dior according to fashion experts. This was due to the dress sporting several similarities to the outfits displayed at Raf Simons first ever couture show, such as the length, cinched in waist and flared skirt. As well as being a spokeswoman for the brand, Portman recently posed nude in a Dior commercial promoting the Diorskin Nude beauty range. Rodarte were also the designers for the possible Mrs Millepied's ballet outfits in 'Black Swan', so it's no wonder she's sticking to a label that seems to be bringing her lots of luck and happiness.
