Erin O'Connor made a return to the catwalk at the Gaultier autumn/winter 2011-12 couture show on Wednesday (06.07.11).

The British model - who has not taken to the runway for a year - wore a sleek blue creation with fur arms at the Parisian show, claiming she was "petrified" before taking part.

She said: "Yes it's true, I've taken quite a long time out from modelling and it's really great to be back again. Actually I was petrified before the show but Jean Paul was sweet and fed me macaroons!

"He contacted me and asked me to do the show via text - as you do - and I couldn't refuse. I also took to the catwalk for Natalia Vodianova's charity catwalk show last night and it was great. Beforehand, I shot with Patrick Demarchelier, who I haven't seen for ages, with my fave models Stella, Natalia, Mariacarla - oh and Mr VALENTINO, whose castle we borrowed for the evening!"

The 33-year-old beauty added she particularly likes working on couture shows because they are clothes built around a person, meaning anyone could potentially wear an item.

She told vogue.co.uk: "Couture for me is exciting because the clothes are bespoke fitted to the body they are intended for - no getting poured into a ready-made garment and no pressure on body size and the sometimes limited appreciation of diverse body types.

"Couture is also about theatre - nothing casual - and the emphasis on beauty is celebrated by making a statement about individuality."
