One of the UK's most important nights of the year in the fashion industry took place yesterday (November 23rd 2015), honouring the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella Mccartney and FKA Twigs. The 2015 British Fashion Awards also brought some of the best outfits we've seen all year to its red carpet.

McCartney proved why she won Brand of the Year, posing in a simple classic black dress alongside an equally monochrome suited up Liv Tyler. Presenting her award were 'Absolutely Fabulous' stars Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley - or should we say, Edina and Patsy.

Naomi Campbell proved she was still Queen Bee of the fashion industry as she presented an award to Burberry, with a majestic lace cape over a pale, knee-length babydoll number alongside a stunning new bob do with bangs.

In a custom Gucci gown which did everything it could to frame her ample bosom, Salma Hayek looked an elegant lady in red. The cartoon-esque sequined ruffle design with matching sleeves was a fun and unique touch.

This year's winner of Model of the Year Jourdan Dunn showed off her svelte Victoria's Secret model figure in a black and white cut-out piece designed by Mugler. It was the second time the model won the award, first landing it in 2008, and this time celebrated with a selfie-stick moment with designer Olivier Rousteing.

Accepting the Red Carpet award, recognising achievements in bringing fashion to media attention, on behalf of Tom Ford was Lady GaGa. She looked just like a mermaid in a figure-hugging scarlet dress with separate fishnet sleeves and chest panel.

Karl Lagerfeld was presented with his Outstanding Achievement award by American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, the latter of whom received the same award in 2014. Lagerfeld has remained a giant in the industry and creative director of both Chanel and Fendi. Both are equally known for their outlandish styles, Lagerfeld displaying a silver and black leopard print blazer and Wintor in a pastel floral number.

The British public also recognised individual stars for their personal style; singer and girlfriend of Robert Pattinson FKA Twigs was given the Fashion Innovator award, but ironically toned her look down for the fashion centred event - opting for black satin.

Also, 'Game Of Thrones' star Gwendoline Christie became Queen of sophistication when she collected the Red Carpet Style Ambassador wearing a metallic floor-length number that glittered from head to toe.

Rita Ora brought a touch of uniqueness in a black form-fitting dress that drew military inspiration. Her natural make-up was even more eye-catching as the singer left out her trademark red lips in favour of a nude hue.
