British model Naomi Campbell has revealed that, like Kim Kardashian, she too was subjected to a life-threatening attack by robbers while in Paris several years ago.

The 46 year old appeared on the ‘Wendy Williams Show’ in America on Thursday (January 5th), and when the subject turned to reality star Kim’s terrifying ordeal in her apartment in the French capital back in October, she revealed that she had suffered a similar attack four years ago.

“I sympathise with her a lot because I kept mine on the down-low, but in 2012 I was attacked in Paris,” she told the host, as it was reported by Page Six. “They followed me from the airport. They attacked me. They opened my car door and said ‘Naomi Campbell, we're going to kill you’.

Naomi Campbell has claimed that she doesn’t like the use of the word “racism” to describe discrimination she’s faced in the fashion industry from time to time, and objects to the way the term is often used.

The 45 year old British supermodel made the comments during an interview for Alan Carr’s ‘Chatty Man’ talk show on Channel 4, which was broadcast on Thursday night (April 21st). She was asked whether she faced racism at the start of her career in the ‘80s, and described it as “territorialism” from established figures in the industry.

“I never use that word ‘racism’,” she replied. “I find it a cliché word and I don’t want to use it as an excuse.”

One of the striking black and white T-shirts will cost you $35 but proceeds will go to support the NYU Cancer Institute and NYU Langone Medical Center: centres for medical education in New York, as reported by The Daily Mail. The shirts were launched across nine Marc Jacobs boutiques in America on Friday (26th July) morning, with a planned expansion to Europe next month.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has gotten into some trouble recently and it wasn’t even of her own making.

The 42 year-old model was attacked by two thugs in Paris on November 21 last year, just as she was trying to get into her car. Apparently, the two thugs had attempted to steal her handbag, but failed. Ms Campbell reportedly refused emergency medical care after the incident. Naomi received treatment for a suspected torn ligament immediately after the attack. Her boyfriend, billionaire Vladimir Doronin, immediately flew her to Vail, Colorado, where she was treated by Dr. J. Richard Steadman, a leading specialist in his field.

Despite the expert medical care, however, Naomi has been in a wheelchair ever since the incident, The New York Post Report. She hasn’t made a public statement about the attack just yet, and no new information has been revealed. However, it seems that Campbell is recovering nicely. “I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine,” she said, when contacted by the Post about her assault. Meanwhile, her attackers have not been apprehended and their identities are still unknown. All anyone can do at this point, is wish the lady a speedy recovery.

Naomi Campbell put on a brave face after what must have been a truly terrifying affair: she was attacked by muggers on motorcycles in Paris in the historic 4th Arrondissement as she was entering her car, back in November.

A police source said: "On November 21, two people on a motorbike attempted to steal Ms Campbell's handbag as she sat in a vehicle on Rue de Moussy. She filed a complaint with police in the 4th Arrondissement but she did not agree to a medical examination." Reports suggest the 42-year-old model suffered a torn ligament in the attempted mugging but refused to see a doctor when she reported the crime to police. The attack left her using a wheelchair while her left leg remained in a brace. When reached by phone, the Naomi told The New York Post, "I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine."

Campbell was staying with esteemed designer Azzedine Alaia in Paris, who, ironically, was first introduced to her after she'd been mugged. "I first met Azzedine when I was 16. It was my first day working in Paris and somebody had stolen all my money. I didn't know anyone in the city and didn't know how I was going to eat. A fellow model who was doing a show with Azzedine then brought me to dinner, and I ate very well," she told The Independent way back in 1998.

A source told the news site “It was terrifying. Naomi believes the assailant had been watching her, casing her out, and waited for a moment to strike when she was alone. She was attacked in the street as she hailed a cab, and robbed… Her leg was injured as she was violently pushed to the ground. She was understandably very upset and shaken up.” Naomi reported the incident to the cops in Paris and her boyfriend, the billionaire Vladimir Doronin, flew her to Colorado, where she was treated by J. Richard Steadman, a top orthopedic surgeon.

Naomi has not spoken about the incident, in public. This is reportedly at the request of the police, who are still trying to track down the thugs that assaulted her. When NYP contacted Naomi to find out more about what happened, she said “I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine.” Publicly, she has shown no signs of distress, despite having to rely on a wheelchair and crutches to get around and has instead been tweeting messages of inspiration to her online followers.
