US rockers My Chemical Romance have hired Green Day record producer Rob Cavallo in a bid to emulate the punk rockers' global domination. The HELENA hitmakers are convinced Cavallo, who has produced every Green Day album since 1994, has the magic they need to surpass the success of their 2004 platinum-selling record, THREE CHEERS FOR SWEET REVENGE. And Cavallo has big plans to vary the rockers' sound. He tells, "We're working on stuff, just getting it together and making demos. And from what we've got so far, I think the record is going to be awesome. "The songs are wicked. There's some really dark stuff, and some touches of Queen and the DOORS. "And there's some really experimental parts that sound a bit like System Of A Down. "But all of that is mixed with a big shot of My Chemical Romance."
