My Brightest Diamond's new single, 'Be Brave', is available to download; it is the lead single taken from the forthcoming fourth studio album 'All Things Will Unwind', which will be released on October 10th through Asthmatic Kitty.
The video for Be Brave was directed by Murat Eyuboglu and gives us an insight into the recording process behind the lush melody and vocals. We see My Brightest Diamond - also known as Shara Worden - recording her vocals alongside an orchestra, occasionally in makeup, sometimes dancing in a black beaded dress around the empty studio, but always wearing finger bells that she alludes to in her song.
Shara has performed as My Brightest Diamond since 2004. In that time, she has released two studio albums, two singles and one remix album, all to positive acclaim. Shara has also earned the support of Justin Vernon from Bon Iver; Bryce Dessner from The National and even Talking Heads front man David Byrne.
