Superheroes destroy the Boy Wizard: It's been an unprecedented week at the box-office, with Marvel's superhero epic doing the unthinkable, and taking over $200 million during its opening weekend. Many assumed Harry Potter was untouchable, especially after taking $167 million with 'The Deathly Hallows Part 2', but once the Avengers had assembled, not even wizardry could stop them.

Christina Aguilera Judge on The Voice USA

The $100,000 Voice: After months of searching, judges Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Cee-Lo Green finally found their 'Voice', with Alicia Keys back-up singer Jermaine Paul winning the second season of the reality show. Congratulations to him!

A Fond Farewell To MCA: Musical luminaries have been taking time to reflect on the sad passing of Beastie Boys rapper Adam Yauch this week, though his work is being celebrated for the true pioneering effect it had on the music industry.

This Week's Celebrity Lifesavers: We here at Contactmusic.com were full of admiration for Patrick Dempsey when he essentially saved a young man's life last week, but it seems even more celebrities have been at it! Mila Kunis cared for a worker who had suffered a seizure, while Dustin Hoffman attended to a jogger who had suffered a cardiac arrest!

Is He Experienced? In news that certainly got our pulses racing this week, Outkast star Andre 3000 has been cast as Jimi Hendrix in a forthcoming biopic of the legendary guitarist. And what's more - the picture could be in theaters sooner than we think, with shooting set to get underway in three weeks' time.

Emma Stone. Schiaparelli and Prada 'Impossible Conversations' Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art . New York City, USA - 07.05.12.

Best Dressed, Worst Dressed: It was that time again on Sunday (May 6, 2012), when the rich and famous gather on the red carpet for New York's Met Gala. We were delighted that the younger generation of Hollywood stars came out on top in the fashion stakes, with both Emma Stone and Carey Mulligan topping the majority of 'Best Dressed' lists. Though we're naming no names- others didn't fare as well.

Video of the Week: This week's hottest clip comes from Chris Brown's art show at the Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City, California. The 22-year-old R&B star - and long-time artist - looks incredibly focused as he works on one of his 'street style' creations.

Smelling good Brad! Though we've long known Brad Pitt is a fan of breaking down boundaries and striving for originality, we were still surprised to find that the actor has signed on as the face of the iconic women's perfume Chanel No.5 Though he becomes the first ever man to model for the brand, we give Chanel's latest signing the big thumbs-up!

And Finally: It's great news for residents of Brooklyn, and Barbra Streisand fans in general, with the announcement that the superstar singer will be returning to her native borough for a homecoming show this autumn. It will be her first performance in Brooklyn in more than - wait for it - 50 years!
