Murray James' debut single, 'Protect Me', is taken from his highly anticipated debut EP of the same name, which will be released on October 9th through the record label Deconstruction. Murray James has already started work on his debut album, due to be released in the spring of 2012.
The video for Protect Me sees Murray and his backing band perform the soulful, rollicking song in his distinctive, bluesy voice while a pretty girl pole dances in the background. We also follow a brunette girl, clad in a fur coat, travelling around the streets of London in a bus at night.
Twenty one year old Murray has already garnered praise from several music critics for his easily recognisable voice. His EP, Protect Me, was produced with the help of Dan Grech, who has produced for the likes of indie rockers The Vaccines and New York pop group Scissor Sisters.
Murray has announced three live dates in London throughout October, which are as follows:
Thu 6th LONDON, Lock Tavern (solo)
Wed 12th LONDON, Water Rats (with band)
Sun 30th LONDON, HMV Forum (supporting Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds) (with band)
