US cable music networks MTV and VH1 will team up to telecast eight hours of the LIVE 8 concerts on 2 July (05).

The stations plan to broadcast performances by Coldplay, U2, Madonna, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND and Destiny's Child, as well as interviews and backstage footage.

It will be the longest marathon for MTV, which broadcast the original LIVE AID concerts in 1985, since the network covered the trouble-plagued WOODSTOCK festival in 1999.

Related US networks CMT and VH1 CLASSIC will air concert highlights on 3 July (05).

Meanwhile, XM Satellite Radio will carry the five main concerts live from Philadelphia, London, Paris, Berlin and Rome.
