Salwa Amin, one of the young stars of MTV’s reality show Buckwild, has been arrested in West Virginia on drugs charges. A report from Associated Press reveals that Amin was arrested on Sunday (February 10, 2013) on felony charges. She was arraigned on account of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Police apparently received a tip-off from an informant.

The twenty-four year-old was found in possession of oxycodone pills and heroin and was arrested at a home in Summersville, along with two others. Amin is currently being held on $200,000 bail, after being arraigned at Nicholas County Magistrate Court, West Virginia. The Jail Administrative, Sgt. Rick Drake told Associated Press that she does not wish to speak to the press and MTV’s spokesperson was not willing to comment on the matter.

Buckwild is a controversial new show from MTV, portraying the lives of young residents of West Virginia. It has been criticised by some residents of the are, for portraying West Virginians and their lifestyles in a bad light. Salwa’s nickname on the show is “Bengali In Boots.” Other nicknames of cast members include “Justin Beaver,” “The Pretty Boy” and “The Spicy Southern Belle.”
