More feathers are flying in the Nicki Minaj v Taylor Swift Twitter saga, with Katy Perry wading into the argument with some pretty subtext-heavy comments that all but confirm the subject matter of Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ video.

Perry called out Swift’s reaction to Nicki Minaj’s complaints to not receiving enough MTV Video Music Awards nominations as ironic. “Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman…” she said, a tweet quickly favorited by Minaj.

Nicki Minaj is not happy with the MTV Video Music Award nominations. The 32-year-old singer took to Twitter to complain about two of her music videos not receiving enough recognition. Her collaboration with Beyoncé, ‘Feeling Myself’, was completely missed out from nominations and her ‘Anaconda’ video didn’t get a nomination in the Best Video or Choreography categories.

Miley Cyrus has been confirmed as the host of the MTV Video Music Awards 2015. The ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer announced the news via Instagram on Tuesday (21st July) and MTV have since confirmed.

It's difficult to argue with the results of this year's MTV Movie Awards victors, who took home their much-deserved accolades on Sunday (April 12th 2015). The top prize of Movie Of The Year went to Josh Boone's adaptation of the John Green novel 'The Fault In Our Stars' - but who else won big at the 2015 ceremony?

Shailene Woodley took home a couple of awards herself; first for Best Female Performance in 'The Fault In Our Stars', and second for Best Kiss with Ansel Elgort. 'The Maze Runner' star Dylan O'Brien also won big, landing Breakthrough Performance, Best Hero and, of course, Best Fight with Will Poulter. O'Brien will reprise his role in the upcoming sequel 'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials'. Meanwhile, Zac Efron's abs in 'Neighbors' predictably won him Best Shirtless Performance, while his onscreen chemistry with Dave Franco made them Best Duo. 'Neighbors' was also the winner of Best WTF Moment, with Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne taking home the award.

With Oscar season finally over it’s time for the fun to begin, as the MTV Movie Awards are here yet again to hand out the trophies that really matter. Categories such as ‘Best Shirtless Performance’ and ‘Best Scared-as-Sh-t Performance’ will be contested alongside more traditional awards such as Best Movie and Best Male and Female Performance during the ceremony next month.

Diem Brown, the star of MTV's reality show The Challenge, has died at the age of 32. The reality star and ovarian cancer advocate passed away on Friday (14th November).

Brown died in New York on Friday morning after battling cancer for more than nine years, as People reports. She was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 23 and was receiving treatment even when she appeared on the twelfth season of The Challenge then known as Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat in 2006.

Globe-conquering DJ Calvin Harris is among the host of stars booked to play MTV’s Europe Music Awards ceremony in Glasgow next month. It’s set to be something of a homecoming for the 30 year old Scot, as well as some useful media exposure ahead of the release of his new album in November.

Fresh off hitting the UK number one spot this past weekend, Nicki Minaj has been unveiled as the host for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards. The ceremony, which will take place in Glasgow on November 9th, also marks the 20th anniversary of the awards.

The announcement was made by the rapper on Instagram, who posted a very regal image of herself sitting on a throne along with the caption, "So excited to announce that I will not only perform, but I have the honorable task of HOSTING this year's MTV European Music Awards!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! The show will shoot in GLASGOW, SCOTLAND for its 20th Anniversary ON NOVEMBER 9th!!!!” Previous hosts of the awards include Katy Perry, Heidi Klum and Selena Gomez.

The line-up for MTV's VMAs has been announced, and now it's time to take bets as to whether this year will serve as any less controversial than last year, following the infamous 'Miley-gate' incident. Then again, controversy is big money these days so if anything, the draw of this year's VMAs is seeing if they will top last year's antics.

Gia Allemand's memorial service was held yesterday (21st August) in Queens, New York. the bachelor star's funeral service will be held today, Thursday 22nd August, at Trinity Grace Church in Chelsea, New York. The funeral today will be the third service in memory of the late model this week, after the family memorial in Queens and a tribute in New Orleans on Saturday (18th August).

Everyone seems to have something to say on the death of Gia Allemand. Her mother has issued a statement warning against false sources, whilst the bachelor's representatives have claimed that support is in place for contestants.

Allemand was found unconscious on Monday (12th August) by her boyfriend NBA player Ryan Anderson. She was rushed to hospital and placed on support in ICU. It has later transpired she had hung herself. Sadly, she was taken off life support on Wednesday 14th August after "critical loss of brain and organ function."

Gia Allemand's friends have come forward to tell a New York newspaper the bachelor star suffered from depression and was concerned at the state of her relationship with her boyfriend Ryan Anderson.

Hanson - the 90s pop group who recently released their own brand of beer - are among the acts confirmed the Live Music Day Festival - an online/mobile music festival featuring over 50 musical acts. The event, curated by MTV, CMT and VH1, will take place during the O Music Awards on June 19, 2013.

Elsewhere, Atlas Genius, 2AM Club, Gavin Degraw, Kate Nash and Matt Nathanson will also perform at the event. The OMAs celebrates the best in digital music, featuring categories such as Best Music App and Most Artist Instagram. Yep, you were us correctly, Best Artist Instagram.

This year, Grammy winner Frank Ocean is honored with two nominations for Must Follow Artist on Twitter and the award for Too Much Ass For TV. Fans can vote by heading to OMusicAwards.com or via Facebook or Twitter. Another feature of this year's event is the Make A Band Famous segment, where five up-and-coming  groups will perform during the live show and compete and viewer votes. The band with the most votes will win the distinction of MTV's Artists to Watch, VH1's You Oughta Know or CMT's Listen Up prize.

Former star of MTV series 'Teen Mom' Farrah Abraham has admitted making a pornographic movie with adult-film star James Deen, who stars alongside Lindsay Lohan in new movie The Canyons. Abraham initially denied the whole thing in a pretty hilarious video filmed by TMZ.com reporters, though, now, she claims to have made her "own personal video" - with a major porn star.

In a statement sent to Fox 411, Farrah accepted that she'd filmed the movie though denied planning to leak it. "I'm a great woman, mother and entrepreneur... I wanted my own personal video made and photos taken for myself, when I am older I will have my best year to look back on." Abraham said she "will not be [selling the movie] for anything less than a couple million." This came just 24 hours after the reality star had tweeted, "I'm going to ignore all the lies, all the hate, all the disrespectful people who want 2 take advantage of me, have fun making money off me."

Teen Mom wrapped in August 2012, though Abraham has attempted to remain in some sort of spotlight since then. Last month, photographs surfaced of her kissing another woman while wearing lingerie and she also penned the book "My Teenage Dream Ended" as well as creating her own pasta sauce (with her picture on the label).

Shae Bradley, one of the cast members of the ill-fated MTV show Buckwild has managed to get herself into a public argument on Twitter, with Jenelle Evans, of another MTV series Teen Mom 2. The Buckwild show was recently cancelled, following the death of one of the stars, Shain Gandee. Prior to the show’s cancellation, it had come under fire for portraying the young residents of West Virginia in a bad light, as they were filmed getting drunk, performing stunts and engaging in reckless behavior.

Expressing her disappointment at the show being cancelled, Shae posted a series of messages on Twitter that read: “‪@mtv can have shows about horrible parents and horrible influences and were just good people having good hearted fun and Shain was the best… Person. It's not fair. It's cruel ‪@mtv… And to all of you who say we're doing this for the money, you're ignorant. It's about a group of best friends that just lost one. We want… To keep our friends memory alive and live like Gandee ‪#llg.” Jenelle Evans, no stranger to a spot of wild behavior or controversy, herself, took umbrage at the first part of Shae’s message and tweeted back, “Sorry if u guys like to party and traffic drugs and have yr cast members locked up. MTV doesn't like that too much..."

Bradley then brought up the issue of Evans’ brushes with the law and a slanging match between the stars of the two shows ensued. Possibly not the best method of convincing MTV to reinstate Buckwild, but they’re hashing out as only young reality TV stars know how.

Salwa Amin, one of the young stars of MTV’s reality show Buckwild, has been arrested in West Virginia on drugs charges. A report from Associated Press reveals that Amin was arrested on Sunday (February 10, 2013) on felony charges. She was arraigned on account of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Police apparently received a tip-off from an informant.

The twenty-four year-old was found in possession of oxycodone pills and heroin and was arrested at a home in Summersville, along with two others. Amin is currently being held on $200,000 bail, after being arraigned at Nicholas County Magistrate Court, West Virginia. The Jail Administrative, Sgt. Rick Drake told Associated Press that she does not wish to speak to the press and MTV’s spokesperson was not willing to comment on the matter.

Buckwild is a controversial new show from MTV, portraying the lives of young residents of West Virginia. It has been criticised by some residents of the are, for portraying West Virginians and their lifestyles in a bad light. Salwa’s nickname on the show is “Bengali In Boots.” Other nicknames of cast members include “Justin Beaver,” “The Pretty Boy” and “The Spicy Southern Belle.”

MTV’s Jersey Shore has run its course and, naturally, it has to be replaced by an equally out of touch reality show, since everyone knows that the music television has little to nothing to do with music these days.

The program the network chose, Buckwild, is certainly a worthy replacement for our favorite guidos and guidettes. Actually, it’s all strongly reminiscent of Jersey Shore, only with a West Virginia twist instead of a New Jersey one. What exactly does that mean? Instead of club hopping and fist pumping, the six girls and three guys of Buckwild prefer to entertain themselves with such cultural hobbies as turning a dump truck into a pool, rolling down a hill in a tire and going “muddin” - we won’t spoil the surprise of what exactly that is, but as you can guess, it involves a healthy amount of mud.

Is it good? Not really, but Buckwild probably doesn’t deserve the bad rep it’s been getting from West Virginians for endorsing a false stereotype. Media outlets in the state encouraged users to express their opinions after the premiere and most of them were, unsurprisingly, negative, worried about the portrayal of young Virginians and the kind of image the show is presenting to the rest of the world. Still, if its predecessor is anything to go by, there is probably nothing to worry about. Snooki and co. were fun to watch and occasionally scandalous, but no one in their right mind would think that that drama was anything other than filler for the show. Same with Buckwild – check it out, if you’re in the mood for some mindless entertainment, but don’t take it at face value.
